I do enjoy this thread and have found the advice/support/giggles invaluable but I can't wait to get of it. I'm now four days overdue and am thoroughly fed up!

40+4 and the size of a house

I am the size of a house too - and I went out into the city for an all you can eat Chinese lunch today with some relatives - I even managed to drive the 40 miles there and back as well as consume 2 plates of yummy food! So now I am like the size of a mansion!!!!

Its funny though - the amount of looks you get - we went into a pub afterwards (or should I say "waddled"!) and the looks on some peoples faces when I walked past......!

I just wanted to knock them out with my belly!:rotfl:

HV must have popped round whilst I was out today and delivered the "red book" and details of her "services" with a note saying that she looked forward to seeing me at the "newborn" visit - hmmm...we'll see about that....!;)

Congrats on your scan Nene - I can never remember how to write your full username!!!!

Did you take your carrier bag to sit on??! :rotfl:It's good that you went :) My OH is really funny you know because I drive wherever I want when he is at work but, the minute he comes back, he insists on driving me to places and picking me up afterwards. Weird!

I can't believe that she showed up. Just as well that you weren't in.
I still think that she is a cheeky moo.

I have spent today bouncing on that bl0ody ball, eaten Indian food for the zillionth time this week and eaten fresh pineapple (again!) despite it burning my mouth. Urghhh!! I wanna be on the next thread now!!!

I forgot my plastic bag and at one point I started to feel really light headed and sick - and though oh-oh....! But I chilled out after that...! My OH is happy to be driven around - but then again I think his driving would actually send me in to labour (which I don't want for another week at least anyway!!!).

I think the electrician was at my house when HV arrived - so he had to deal with her!!!:D

Haha! I have had no real signs of labour yet.....but knowing my luck it will be in the middle of a supermarket on my own....the shame of waters going everywhere in the cereal aisle or something.....!

Pineapple doesn't really work, I think you have to eat like 7/8 fresh pineapples in one sitting for it to work and that would cause horrendous heartburn.

I actually managed to eat a normal day's food yesterday for the first time in a week with no sickness, hooray. Off for a facial this morning so that'll be nice. Then the plan was sitting in the sun, but we're still waiting for the thunderstorm and rain to clear - boo!

    Morning all

Advice needed on nursing bras please - where is best to get them from? Do I need to buy bigger? Should I buy now or wait until I've had baby?

I have never been measured for a bra in my life, I just wear what's comfy!

Also, when they say take big knickers into hospital with you - does this mean full briefs?

    Sorry for the silly questions!

No, pineapple doesn't really do much but it makes us think that we are as well as break up the waiting game.

I've not bought any nursing bras. I have decided to wait until baby arrives. I have bought Bridget Jones-esque knickers (only cheap ones from Primark) and some disposable ones from Boots.

What are you STILL doing on here....get off and start pushing!!!!:D:D:D

I have got some of those cheapy £1 nursing bras that sparkles recommended the other day (thank you again!) - an absolute bargain but just tried one on - bought one size up as they didn't have any in my exact size - think they will just be used when I am moo-ing!!!;) (they are a little "scaffolding" like but at £1 each who am I to complain!)

I do have some nicer looking black ones too (from Amazon) - why on earth do they make most nursing bras in white - any white bras I have ever had start turning grey after just one wash......! (and think of the stains that nursing bras will get....uuugh!)

I have some disposable pants from Boots as well but I figured my normal black comfy ones would be ok also as black won't stain anyway!!!!

I got some lovely pretty black bras from mothercare last weekend as mothercare doing Buy One, Get 2nd Half Price on all clothes, undies etc until 13th June. My pretty ones worked out at £22 for two. Not massively cheap but I don't look like my nan in them and that was worth the extra couple pounds to me lol. I also got a nursing nightdress and matching gown ready for hospital. I hadn't been measured before but did last week in mothercare - just took top off (always thought had to take bra off too!) and was surprised at my new size! Must admit, they are bloomin comfy. :-)
