Uh Oh! 1st lesson learnt, only accept assignments that you understand!!!!! HELP!!!0

Hi..am thinking about joining Textbroker, but before I do, can someone please advise if I can decide what to offer as my joining assessment, or do Textbroker ask for a document on a specific subject? Reason I ask is that I have something at hand I recently produced. Many thanks0

I seem to recall there was a choice of subjects. You could use the piece you already have on your profile, provided it hasn't been published anywhere else. In other words, you aren't allowed to plagarise yourself!0 -

You can change your mind once you have chosen an assignment. Alternatively, you could message the client and ask for clarification.0 -

Hi Alvesjs,
From what I can remember they give you a choice of subjects. When I signed up last year I selected sightseeing in 'your favourite city', but there were a couple of other options.
I have seen people on this forum mention that they wrote about favourite games - it could be they change the options regularly.
As someone mentioned recently, make sure you keep a copy of the article, as it doesn't appear anywhere on Textbroker once you have submitted it.
Good luck!0 -
I have now combined TB with other platforms. Odesk and Elance are working out for me. Textbroker gave me the platform, but I needed much bigger projects. I will hang around on TB as a couple of clients who I have built up a good relationship with. I have some excellent contracts on the go at the moment, all long term work.
Textbroker is a great introduction for online earnings, but the market is tough and once confidence has built up then using other work stations is a good idea. There is much more flexibility and I am finding a more client driven environment and there is little risk of being downgraded as a writer.0 -
Congratulations Sommer! Good for you.
I'm branching out too, though not quite in the same direction! Just getting round to setting up a little Etsy shop, and have had a couple of art commissions over the past month (which is probably my first love), but I wouldn't have gone for either if I hadn't gained so much self-confidence through TB.0 -
been away from TB for a while but would like to do more work, site has changed a bit and I cant find current jobs, can anyone point me in right direction? Thanks0

If you don't mind me asking, how are Odesk and Elance in comparison to TB? I feel confident writing about some subjects more than others, but I find with TB I can pretty much do a little bit of research on the majority of topics and write up an article with ease. Do Odesk and Elance require more in-depth knowledge?
TB has been slow lately and my TeamOrders have dried up in recent weeks, so I'm kind of eager to branch out a little bit. I don't think I want to write it off completely because it really is easy to make a little stash of money each week and cash out, but some other projects here and there would be interesting.0 -
Hi everyone,
I've just joined the forum (after browsing for years!) and signed up for Textbroker. I have a journalism degree and worked in journalism for 5 years so it would be fairly embarrassing if I didn't score too wellAlthough I'm not so sure I have met their brief. We shall see!
My worry is I won't get many jobs as I am at work most of the day so can't constantly keep tabs. Looking forward to giving it all a go though!0
