Loads of three star right now......0

Does anyone know if you still have to have your payments sent to Paypal? Or can they be done direct to bank account now?"Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0

I am not getting on very well with this site. I was accepted as a 4* writer and had my first few articles accepted and paid via paypal. Now I am getting rejections and it is making me feel annoyed. It is not the fact that my articles are being rejected that is winding me up really, it is the rejection comments. There is so much typed that it surely would be quicker for them to write the article themselves. I think many of these companies are foreign and therefore humour and any other creative writing device does not translate very well. The time it takes to try and make something, like a leather sofa, fit into an article about eco-friendly buildings is just not worth the measly couple of pound. The piece I mention wanted me to write with quite in-depth knowledge about sustainable materials and then fit in a line about sofas a few times here and there. Then they accussed me of making it sound like builders were only using sustainable materials as a gimmick! Not anything like using it to try and sell sofas...Ok, rant over.
Does make me wonder why some of them don't just write the article themselves. I could have revised it, I omitted a great deal of in-depth knowledge to fit into the 400 odd word count, but I am thinking now would it be worth actually setting up my own sites and filling them with this kind of content? I did enjoy writing for this site, especially the fashion articles but I think as soon as I reach the 10euros this week will be my lastBy this time next year we'll be millionaires......
Personal challenge- Make an extra£5 a day for May from may 6th....and not spend it!0 -
If you don't mind me asking, what other type of stuff were they saying when you got revisions? I've only had a handful of revisions from writing 200+ articles and on those occasions it was because I'd forgotten to format the article properly or needed to reword a few sentences. In general, I do try and write every from a neutral perspective and in favour of whatever the article is supposed to be about (unless they state otherwise). I think unless they specify it's best not to inject too much personality into the articles. Some do ask for a more 'bloggy' style with a sense of humour, but if it's an article about solar panels and the description is quite vague I try and just adopt a straightforward style.
There are a few times when I've read an article description and saw the keywords and thought "There's no way I can fit that in the article naturally". I usually pass on them if I think I'll end up writing jibberish sentences.
I wouldn't write off Textbroker though! It's been quite the earner for me. You might just need a bit of time working on developing a writing style that most clients want to read, or be a bit more picky with what articles you accept.0 -

I am scared about how much they expect of you as a writer, that article sounds like a load of rubbish. Not you as a writter but what they want!
I am intrested in textbroker. I would not say I am an amazing writer but I was always very good at school/college at writing content. What lets me down is I am ever so slightly dyslexic. I know if I double check content I may be okay. Just how strict are they? I read a comment above stating they did not have many 3 star rating articles. I am just unsure if I should try or not. I know they say 'no harm in trying' but I don't want to waste my time.In need of extra ££...and failing0 -

Clients can't reject an article without giving you at least one chance to revise it - are you saying it was rejected after you'd done a revision?
TB say they will look at all disputes and unreasonable revision requests.0 -
I am scared about how much they expect of you as a writer ....
Clients' opinions vary, but as a quick example, here's what the TB reviewers might do if you submitted the above post to them as an article;
"I am scared about how much they expect of you as a writer, [as/since] that article sounds like a load of rubbish. [This is not] Not [directed at] you as a writter [writer] but [at] what they want!
I am intrested [interested] in textbroker [Textbroker]. I would not say I am an amazing writer[,] but I was always very good at school/college at writing content. They are strict on grammar, punctuation and spelling. Very strict! As I'm sure I've said earlier, TB care far more about that than the actual content of your article. I have a feeling you could a write a load of old codswallop, but if every comma, semi-colon and capital letter is in the right place, TB would pass it;)0

Would anyone happen to know if Textbroker closes down for the Easter holidays? It would save me hitting the refresh button every five minutes if anyone knows the answer.0
-
The site doesn't close down on holidays, but clients may drop off during the period. Payments may be affected with the bank holidays, but they usually announce it. I'd say it's still worth checking as I was still picking up the odd article over Christmas. You can't really predict the ebbs and flows off Textbroker sometimes..0
