Well if it involved field research then I would! Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I have dipped in and out of textbroker, and it did provide a bit of extra cash for christmas. I have now decided to give it more of a push as well as working more on my other writing- I am aiming to enter at least one writing competition or submit something to a magazine/site once a month.

Just completed an interesting article and accepted another to do today. I do find it hard to do articles that are on subjects I am not interested in though.

Decided to try filling in more of my profile and adding some sample articles. Also slightly increased my word rate, just to show I value my work in hopes it might make clients view me more?

How much do you get per article?

Depends on the article length, but I try to stick to the 4 star ones as it's more than the lower star ones. I currently have 3 article either paid or submitted awaiting payment. The short one was around 2.50 euros the other 2 are around 4.50 euros so around 12 euros for the 3. These last 3 were under 350 words so pretty quick. I find it alot easier to rattle off these shorter ones inbetween sorting the kids out (I have 4 aged 2 to 14), than trying to do the 500-750 word ones. But I would say if you have time the longer ones may be a good moneyspinner.

I am also trying to fit in 500 word a day on my fiction writing as I think its an amount I may be able to fit in and also I think writing i short bursts stops any writers block lol.

I know some on here try to do textbroker full time and I think someone reckoned they could hit £800 in a good month?

Well, I have taken the plunge and registered with a view to doing a bit of writing on the train in and out of work for pocket-money.

Submitted my sample piece and have a 3 star rating ... which I find somewhat amusing, since I do write professionally, but hey ho! It's all subjective I guess. Though I do half wonder whether they have some automated element of the rating process that's penalised me a star for not putting apostrophes in "its" where I used it in the possessive form, or something.

Will have a peek at what's on offer on the way home and see whether it's going to be worth my while. May just stick to submitting stuff for Comment is Free though, who pay rather better!

Anyone else noticed a delay in payment compared to usual? Paypal is a little on the slow side today :)

Hi, I have done one 3 star assignment and today and yesterday there were some 2 star ones advertised but I really couldn't understand the very vague instructions, can anyone explain?

    Thank you

This is going to sound so patronising, and I apologise in advance for that, but just for the record ................ its (in the possessive form) doesn't have an apostrophe, while it's (as in "it is") does have an apostrophe!;)

TB are very hot on that sort of thing and commas ......... omg, they are comma fiends!
  • I have recently started with Textbroker as a 4* writer. Six Articles down and I'm hooked. As a stay at home Mum and a farmers wife it is lovely to be doing something for myself - and receiving a little praise for my writing is doing wonders for my confidence.

Just a quick question; Has anyone received any direct orders after filling out their Author Profile? Mine is blank so far but I wonder if it would be worth completing.

Thanks for that. You don't sound patronising actually - just uncomprehending! If you read what I actually said, you will note that I did NOT put an apostrophe in when using "its" in the possessive form. I do know my grammar. My point was to query if Textbroker had some kind of automatic parsing software that just picked out any occurence of "its" and marked it down.

I do know that this is probably not the case - am just a bit peeved at not getting a 4* rating ... mostly because they don't actually seem to offer any work for below that level (but also because I am pretty much certain that I can write content that their 4* requesting clients would be happy with).
