 I've just noticed the difference in price between the 4* and 5* articles - more than 3 times as much for twice as many words.

The word "topnotch" is used twice in the 5* article. I'm always really careful not to do that.

EDIT Got that completely wrong, I was looking at the wrong article. It's actually over 3 times more expensive for about 100 fewer words!!! I hope 5* authors are paid accordingly!

As I said earlier, there's probably people outside of this forum who are authors, so bemoaning the situation here will have little effect.

Also, if the 4* authors have finished all the 4* articles, and there's some 3* waiting, what would you have them do? Leave them for the 3* authors out of charity?

Assuming someone who works a 5-day week, say - should they give up two days out of five, and be paid for the remaining three, so that an apprentice can fill in and learn their role?

Yes. I believe 4* authors should leave us 3* authors some breadcrumbs from their banqueting table :)

On a serious note, I didn't mean to criticise the 4* authors. I was clumsily having a dig at the Textbroker system. It seems that unless you're classed as a 4* author from the start then you will struggle to get any articles to prove your worth.

For any newbies out there reading this. Do NOT underestimate the importance of your application assessment article. You only get one stab at it and if it's not considered 4* quality then you end up in the proverbial dungeons of the Textbroker system.....eyes fixed yearningly at the 4* orders column that seems to get regularly replenished !

  • It is hard to move up but worth the effort. also worth taking real care with your first sample to try and get the 4 straight away. Probabkly worth advertising on textbroker for a 5* writer to do it for you actually. Speculate to accumulate.

That is not a half bad idea!!:T

Unfortunately, as TB "mark" everything you write, if you really can't keep up a decent 4* standard then you will just get knocked down to a 3* anyway. At least, I presume that's what will happen.........?

Wow. So when you apply for a job in 'real life', you pay someone to falsify your qualifications, references, job history and get them to take an entrance exam for you ... ?

You 'Probabkly' shouldn't do this ...

It seems that there's one client, virttually, supporting TB at the moment. Vast majority of what's available today from that one client; if he/she wasn't there, there'd be nowt ...

It seems poor grammar is "virttually" endemic these days.

Evidently my knowing smile to go with that one didn't propagate itself through the whole of the forum ... ah, well.
