Can I come too? I dont eat chocolate so Mar can have mine.

As a Vet Nurse I could care for the assorted critters, and in times of need help the hoomans.

    OH can do horticulture stuff.

Im setting you all a task, read back all the thread and then rethink the wisdom of putting Mar in charge of chocolate :D, mind you we could harness her to the threshing machine and she could power it with the huge sugar rush she would have :rotfl:

If you are all serious about moving to an island, but still want to have chocolate, then I suggest you get a fridge to store it in. You don't need electricity, just hook the workings up to a couple of bicycles (fixed into the ground) and take it in turns powering the fridge. Good way of getting your exercise too!

    Hello all,

Please can I come to the island? I know how to make a power-less fridge from terracotta pots and damp sand, choc melting problem solved!!! I cook, bake, garden, sew, will have a go at anything, DS is good at wood chopping and shooting, crazy doggie isn't very sociable so may have to leave her behind tho.

I call that Bull$h!t bingo :rotfl:

Write a list of words and tick off every time you hear them (you know "outside the box", "holistic", "green", "sustainable", and my personal pet hate "synergies" ) - when you get them all yell "bingo" - if you dare. I did dare once - and the boss had the grace to laugh. I did convince him that I must have been listening though.

    :D

    Used to play that :rotfl:

Thinking about it, it would be even better with the job I have now

I wanna come too please! How are we getting there? (Why do i get a mental image of a long line of wifeys cycling in the sky?!) Can it be somewhere where I can dive for scallops and eat the food of the sea?

I just wanted to thank GQ for the piece she wrote a day back about home life and not letting stress effect you. It's what I needed to hear at the moment. I am extremely stressed due to work effecting my home life in the worst possible way. I am going to ensure that from tomorrow onwards I put in place a plan that sees me rid of work related stresses. Funny, seeing as I haven't got a job at the moment but I have come to realise that things change constantly and you have to just ride the waves.

Also I have to rely on my food stores for the foreseeable and had it not been for the influence of the preppers my family would be looking at bare cupboards and wondering how they will eat in this cash not flowing blip.

Thanks all. I read often but don't know enough about prepping to contribute, even though I'd like too. :)
