I might be lucky to hang onto a day's work a week until I can find something else. To say I'm feeling heartbroken and totally defeated is an understatement.
Sorry to hear that, sometimes life has a way of directing your path in ways you didn't think you'd go.
Through my life I have often found that odd things happen and sometimes what seems like a rough deal turns out to be a golden opportunity. I really hope this is the case for you here.0 -
Oh dear - friend from work has just Facebooked to say her husband's suspected liver cancer has now been confirmed
I don't really know what to say.

Feeling a bit delicate today, our beloved old puddy cat died this morning:(, I know there are worse things happening in people's lives, but feeling like poop anyway.
On a prepping note, Ive moved some supplies in the garage, so that the new tins etc can go to the back of the pile.
The weather is a bit bizarre today, sun is shining and all the snow has melted, it just doesn't feel right. However on a positive note Ive managed to get some washing out, plus ive been able to have a look round the garden to see what is still growing.
Hope you all stay safe
Hugs WLL x
Sorry to hear about your cat. Having lost 4 in the past 4 years (with another very old), I feel your pain, and It's all relevant, it's the worst thing happening in your life right now and It's no less important than anybody else's pain.0 -

So sorry for all those facing sadness and loss xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Mentally you need to prep too eh - and that's not so easy as going out and buying a load of food. What I find helps (although I'm very tough thanks to a caustic Irish mother lol) is to think of my granny and g/granny gone before me. Half the family were miners and the other side were on the fishing boats - so however tough or hard my life is, and however miserable I feel, it won't come anywhere near theirs. And they survived, and passed the genes on to me.0

It seems quite clear that you require a much larger space for sweetie stashing, possibly with a self exploding lock and emergency panic button access.
It would seem you have underestimated the severity of the emergency, I do sympathize.
In these difficult times that made me laugh, so thank you. You could make a fortune out of the idea of self exploding locks on fridges for people trying to lose weight LOL
Love and hugs to everyone who needs them, there are some very sad situations around that are difficult to deal with and my heart goes out to you. Love and hugs and sending healing to you all.
I actually got a message last night from one of the met offices I sent a complaint to, about not warning people of upcoming extreme weather in plenty of time. I had pointed out that the so called unpaid amateurs were forecasting it over a month ago and that the met office gets millions each year to do that job and don't do it!
He pointed out that I had no qualifications in weather predicting and that the storms would not affect the UK and Ireland.....so I told him my grandma used to say she could ''feel it in her water'' and if it was good enough for her it was good enough for me LOL:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I also said that I thought Ireland, Scotland and the Uk, (mainly the west coast) were going to get a hammering by three waves of storms next week and left it at that. I see this morning that several of the amateur forecaster have backed me up in what I said. So I feel like I have won a victory for the ''little man'' who knows nothing......:rotfl: Never mess with a Prepper from this thread....we know how close the S is to the F!!!
Have a good day folks, having a quiet day at home catching up with my washing as not only is the sun out....its dry!!!!!:T“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. I agree, and thats the hardest thing isn't it?Whenever I start feeling really down (yesterday) I have a day doing everything by hand - soon makes me count my blessings!!!!!!
Preparing mentally is definitely much harder than gathering stuff together for sure!0 -
I'm astonished how quickly our deep snow has gone - though don't be lulled into a false sense of security - I just skidded spectacularly across the patio :rotfl:
Meanwhile locally we've got wind, intermittent rain and hail - plus flood alerts across the whole area. Great eh?
As for pets, neither me or the dog are getting any younger. She is my constant companion and brings love and life to the home and I dread her passing. I worry about me if she dies before me, I worry about her if I die before her, I worry about her health and if I can afford vets bills and I worry about both of us if I should get ill or need hospital treatment. There I think that's all the bases covered!0
