Can't imagine something like that happening in real life.

Noonoo DD&D has an eye infection and is putting ointment in and cant cope with the computer just now. Our sweep charges £20.0

thanks mar, £20 - bargain! but I wouldnt fancy paying his travel from yours to mine heehee
DD&D hope you feel better soon - a colleague at work has been diagnosed with dry eye finally, having spent the last 2 months looking like a living zombie! I hope your eye stuff clears up sooooooon (I know you'll probably never get back this far to read this but I just wanted to put it out there!)Blah0 -
£20? AFAIR the cheapest one round here is £60... that's what we get for being close to some of the most expensive real estate on the planet
most which appears to belong to long-legged Eastern European teenagers now, who some of my friends nanny for.
Hoping D&DD's eyes clear up quickly; eye infections are the pits as you really can't do much at all when your vision's all blurry.
Another Archdruid reader here, intrigued to see Dippypud's link; added to the Scottish referendum (yes, I know it's different, I'm just intrigued as to why Westminster's suddenly so keen on the idea) and the Eurozone slowly starting to shake itself apart, interesting times indeed...Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
I know that I am really scared about what is going on and I believe as I have said much is not being said by our Government(and the media)not sure if they are going along with the Government by choice, being forced to under report matters or "Don't Know" because things are being kept from it.
And when stories(serious though they are)happen like the BBC is caught up in at present it diverts the population's attention from a story that will affect just about everyone and certainly many that on low wages, fixed incomes(due to ill health, unemployment, opensions etc...)and the situation in Greece just gets worse.
I heard today that there is a possiblity that it could run out of money by Friday. Is that scaremongering? I don't know...To me most of the population has...I also heard on the radio that more demonstrations are planned but that demonstrations are being planned in more European countries even where supposedly there are not the problems of the Euro as Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece are experiencing.
And then as has been said Though unlikely as yet becomes the numbers are low we have certain States in the US showing possible unrest and wishing not to be part of the Nation.
I can see the simularities to what is happening in the UK with the idea of Scottish Independence and in theory what it is to stop Wales and yes, even N.Ireland following suit.
Be strange if N. Ireland went it's own way eventually not because of it's history but on economic grounds. Is smaller better? I don't know...they used to say there was strength in numbers...

Morning all, we pay £45 for our sweep but book him in May when he is not so much in demand and he knocks £5 off and that is for a full chimney clean and inspection of the liner, he even cleans the brass fittings on the stove.
NOO - I think that the JusRol Puff Pastry is vegan, have a read of the label next time you are shopping, I seem to remember being able to use it for DD1 who also developes a dairy foods intolerance once in a while. If so that would make your life so much easier, yes?
Off to one of the villages nearby this morning as they have a really good hardware shop there and DD1 has asked for a coal hod for christmas, I love going to this particular shop as they always have old fashioned tin baths in various sizes hung up outside the shop and lots of wicker baskets and hampers too. It's a little like stepping back 50 years, it's on a medieval village square lined with little shops and parking in the middle. They have a game butcher, independent bakery, antique shop and a small shopping mall with an independent chocalatier and my lovely farm shop is just down the road so we'll call there too. Have a good day all, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
My sweep is also £45 and does the same thing (although my stove doesn't have brass bits, he aways leaves it and the hearth spotless). Once you are on their books, they call you when they are in the area and booke people in the same place in together. So mine is done in August along with half a dozen of my neighbours'. I have a feeling you're not that far from me Lyn... So can you give away where this lovely shop is please? I have Christmas shopping to do and it sounds ideal. If you don't want to share publicly, could you drop me a PM?0

Hi GREENBEE - It's Hemmings in Wickham just north of Fareham on the A32, really worth a visit and the chocolatier is in Bay Tree Walk, also well worth a visit, enjoy if you do, Cheers Lyn xxx.0
