I was looking up the recipe for traditional ginger beer here in Corfu and came across this page...you might like some of the other recipes as well.

    http://realgreekrecipes.blogspot.gr/2011/08/how-to-make-corfu-tzitzibira-ginger.html

I used to buy the ginger beer from the village shop which makes it just down the road....but only in the winter. I soon found out why.....the bottles would explode all summer even if you kept them cool. I used to end up with a wrecked kitchen and about two unexploded bottles from a crate full!

I read it as a rabbit pen for writing as well......and decided the screwdriver must be tiny lol

Had a lovely day, went to the remembrance service at the British cemetery in town then up to the church for refreshments. Met the new temporary vicar who is also a celiac like me.He was a lovely man, forced out of retirement to come and save Corfu. Believe me, the state the government is in we need all the help we can get.We got on like a house on fire lol......much to the amazement of everyone there.

It was lovely to see the Greek military representatives at the service and also three Orthodox priests.

Relaxing now in front of the olive wood fire..its quite cold outside tonight as the sky is so clear. Hoping to get in to have my tooth sorted tomorrow morning, even if its a temporary filling till I get an appointment later. The tooth is not hurting me at all but the rough edge of the broken tooth is really making my tongue sore.

But it didn't stop me eating my liver, onions, mash and peas for dinner LOL

Ours was £40, but the guy checks the flue liner each time, as we have a wood burning stove and the person who fitted the flue (I think the guy who owned the house before us) managed to fit it upside down  The company who replaced the stove (previous owner had ruined the original one by burning old sleepers and other wood full of tar - wonder they didn't set the place on fire )said it would be ok for a few years with any luck but would eventually need replacing. So we really need to get a woodburner /flue specialist to do it, not just someone who would shove a great big brush up there

Still cheaper than 45 plus VAT though

tell me about it! mind you with the dragon up there paying £55 i think we are getting a great deal at £25. the main reason I ask is because a friend only pays £15 but i have a feeling thats a family friend so i didnt know if i should consider shopping around again. we are happy with the service we get, he turns up when he says he will, he doesnt make a mess at all and he is very thorough and always shows us what he's cleared out and offers to let us see the brush poking out the stack lol so at the price he charges I am comfortable with the value for money we get but wondered how much it varied and just from yours and the dragons post I can see it varies hugely!
