    I've been Money Tipped!
I haven't got a clue about politics but my DH says America owes a shed load of money to China and we owe a shed load to the USA.

Says if these countries were to call in their dues we would be stuffed.

Having spent the last couple of days doing trivial me me things I really need to get my behind into gear today. There are lots things that need sorting out but I am in a CBA mood already. I might just potter about and have a couple of hours playing with some paints this afternoon.
As a child I was surrounded by a father and brothers who were amazingly good at drawing and painting and I was not.:(
Now, as part of my 'let me be me' thing, I have acquired some paints and am going to see just how 'bad' I really am. To be honest I think it's a lot about just doing something for me. IYKWIM
I think for many of us, we loose ourselves to the Mother/Daughter/Wife roles we have. It's hard to be able to reclaim a bit of the person you once were. Mind you I'm not looking to find the pub crawling, four inch heel wearing, make-up wearing me, I think I will just let her stay lost.:rotfl:

Any thoughts of practising 'Cammo' painting in case of a zombie attack are really flights of fancy! Honest!:)

    Found this!! :rotfl:

Morning well it is bright cold and sunny here, Doglet cannot make up his mind if he wants to sunbathe in the front room or be in the dark back room and get some boy's cuddles with DH who is refusing to get up.
Have not managed to have a decent conversation with DH about the whole being demoted a pay grade as yet, but TBH there is little point until he has spoken with HR and Union and so on. I am trying not to let this worry me as I am sure it will be sorted, however the outcome probably is that the sorting will be us managing on a lower wage.
Right of to make the most of the morning sunshine by getting some washing on and using as much of that free solar power as I can!

well it certainly did work fine MrsLW - but can you believe I dont have a food processor? i do all my stuff by hand (and very arthriticky hands at that), so pie pastry - success! apple crumble - success! oat milk custard - success! today is lunch out in nottingham and then making twinks as traybake style later for breakfast in the week and then fajitas and leftovers for dinner :) a perfectly old style weekend of cooking which has made me super happy! thank you everyone that's helped over the years to turn me from a ready meal diva to an old style goddess :)

hope you're all ok everyone - keep prepping x

  • Morning NOO - the only thing I cannot make by hand, try as I might is pastry!!! I could make suitcases from my hand made stuff, certainly cardboard boxes. If I use the food processor (bought a couple of years age for £5 from a boot fair to chop up apples for cider would you believe?) at least we can eat what it produces, even the birds leave my hand made stuff!!!!!!! Glad everything was a great success, sounds delicious. Enjoy your lunch out today, hope the sun is shining for you in Nottingham, Cheers Lyn xxx.

I didnt even know you could make pastry in a food processor - is that a Kenwood ? I'm not up on kitchen cooking gadgets :) I have a Kenwood my lovely son and DIL gave me but I don't touch cos I'm scared of it. The noise is hellish. The RV is in charge of it, much to his disgust :)
  • Yes it is MAR and a very old and tired one too. Just put all the ingredients in and whiz with the blade in 10 second bursts until it all forms into a block. Then take it out and pop it into a polybag in the fridge for 30 mins and hey presto, PASTRY!! Mind your fingers on the blade when you take the ball of dough out. Easy peasy lemon squeezy, go on have a go, I dare you!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.
