I'm an 'outer', though of course it will benefit me far more to stay in. (Rents are going up, and most of my tenants are from Eastern Europe.)
I don't have anything against them. Mostly they are very hard working. The problem comes when you try to drive round Reading. Every day I have to go miles off my route to be out of nose to tail traffic. I notice it getting a little worse every year.0 -

Rents in my city went up 2.5 fold shortly the EU citizens esp Poland's people were allowed to settle here. You can't blame the landlords for taking the money, but most people aren't landlords and they're getting stuck between a rock and a hard place - priced out of the private sector and crowded out of the social sector.:(
The traffic also gets more and more mental each month and the air quality is significantly worsening.
Most of 'em are just folks, and good enough people. Some of 'em are pond-scum convicted criminals and we seemingly have no rights to filter them out of the flow.
The sheer numbers are untenanble and this country is far too small to handle it and I can see my quality of life declining.

Looks like I'm a lone voice in the wilderness then
Can anyone give their thoughts on protecting the coastline around this island if we leave ?
I agree with all the posts about the demand on our already broken or strained resources but do you all feel we can protect ourselves if we go it alone . Our armed forces are seriously depleted , we have police officers in the family and they have had savage cuts and overall morale is at an all time low throughout most employees in the uk .
So can we stop invasion if we go it alone . It isn't going to stop just because we leave . It will make us easy pickings imo .
Wanders off to source a large turtle and some elephants ( humanely of course ) that's my back up plan - and I'm keeping the towel

What are we doing to stop it now?
What do you think will change with an exit vote?
If you are happy with the way things are now, if you feel safe, then there's no reason to vote out.
I have no reason to believe (and no one I've spoken to has suggested any reason to believe) the current situation can get better if it continues as is.
If things aren't good now, and won't get better by themselves, then change is the only option (IMO).That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

New shadow I am unaware of all the details of our present security systems - which is how it should be . I am oddly enough re your post earlier a former civil servant myself although I later went into education before being overwhelmed by the demands of motherhood .
I would imagine membership strengthens communications on security between member states .
The fact that real facts on the pros and cons of staying or leaving are not being given has left everything open to scare stories rather than concrete points to consider . I don't know if we will keep existing cooperation with other countries and how much more our less we will be vulnerable .
At the moment I am thinking better the devil you know than the devil you don't . If the best minds and brains in the uk ( often touted but never really took off ) with some empathy and real life experience could replace what exists now I'd happily back them but as I said earlier I don't trust the present system and we can't blame everything on the EU.

Some changes could be catastrophically worse.
(General comment about change for the sake of change).
I'd far rather people were making a positive choice with their vote, none of this is helped by politicians who only play the fear factor card and exaggerate the forthcoming ills if you don't vote their way.
Which ever way the vote goes, on the 24th of June we have to pick up the pieces and rebuild a divided country, with a lot of people dissatisfied as to the outcome and fearing the worst. (A bit like Scotland post its referendum, where they are still paying the price for listening to politicians).
For what its worth, I reckon the brown stuff is likely to be flying whichever way the vote goes, and its the politico's and bankers who'll ensure they are all right, as per usual and the rest of us will be treated like mushrooms.0 -
Maybe we best stop talking politics on here or the powers that be will drop on us from a great height.. Let's get back to really important stuff - like where is the supply of jellybabies going to come from after the S has HTF?0

That is appalling. There was no need to put a picture of a hand holding a pencil on the document. I hope this comes back to bite this government on the backside. One life - your life - live it!0
