Have I been beamed up Scotty. It's hailing on one side of my house and sunny on the other side. Where's my towel?!!Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Miust be the same climatic zone as someone I used to know who grew up in a house on a Kentish hill - you could regularly go out the front door into sunshine and then go out the back door into rain.
Sometimes, their hill used to attract its own cartoon-style roosting raincloud which sat over the top whilst the surrounding area was dry and sunny. You can feel a bit put-upon by climate, sometimes.:rotfl:
ETA; Lyn, it's called economic opportuniism when people from safe but poor countries with no rights to immigrate into yours sneak in. Blinking cheek, but worrying how porous our coast is. And when you consider that the Channel is the world's busiest sealane, if people are sneaking across that, what the heck is going on in A.N Other Estuary or beach somewhere less populous?Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Have been having a good laugh at the thread today, about the HHG etc, but have to say NewShadow, those chocolates are beautiful! Are/were they yours, or an image you found on the 'Net? Wondering what brand they are
GreyQueen I hope you feel better now! It's horrible when you eat something and suddenly find you must go to sleep now.0 -
Feeling better, thanks. Funny how it took me like that. I'd heard of people reacting like that to bananas, of all things, but hadn't really considered the sedative powers of the ginger biscuit as a risk.
It is presently raining, which is traditional on a Bank Holiday Monday. I always feel a bit sorry for folks oganising fairs and fetes etc.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Mila A true prepper would move to the sunny side and dry off naturally
This towel is strictly ceremonial . I have finally got the cushy job and will take my role seriously .
Ivyleaf I think those chocolates are Lindt , I saw them in Sainsbugs last year I think . They also look a bit Hotel Chocolat but sb don't sell that brand .
Lyn I thought of you when I finally caught up on the news last night . Very worrying times . I never wanted to go into europe and have dithered back and forth between in and out . My heart says out but my head says in . It would be funny if not so scary to watch the outs saying we can close off this island and make our own decisions on our borders . For all the things I disagree with the market about I think people have forgotten it took the combined efforts of many countries to stop us being invaded and to help win ww2 .
There were many Polish and other nationalities crewing the planes in the battle of britain and many lives given . My dad served with the food convoys which brought in the grain and other staple foods that kept the nation on its feet and many lives were lost in doing so or changed forever . The Russian runs were a nightmare and even Canada and America runs were under constant attack .
It took a big chunk of many countries efforts to bring peace and in the extreme present day situation we need all the back up we can get . The politicians need to get off the publicity and sound bites bandwagon and do the bl**dy job they are paid to do .
Sorry end of rant .
In calmer mood anyone wishing to paddle up the Irish Sea can have a go , a quick boat trip to the Isle of Man should change their minds
even with todays stabilisers on the newer boats .
I reckon we are pretty safe along this coastline - fingers crossed .

There but for fortune go you and I.0 -

Yours for only $81!
Plus, the sun tastes like pineapple :rotfl:That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

to be perfectly honest, although I am voting out, largely because I think we will end up with a health service where we have to pay at the point of use otherwise, I am oddly indifferent in many ways. I just want our politicians to be a damn sight more savvy than they are - and I think if we come out there will be nowhere to hide so they will have to get on with it. The City will adapt very well, it always does. So if the City can do it, Westminster ought to be able to....
yeah rightIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -

yeah right
Yannis Varoufakis was on the Andrew Marr Show yesterday and he commented what a shame it was that the most important voting issue for a generation had boiled down to in-fighting among the ToriesVery true.
