 Don't eat the small blue one!

Well, watched one of the few things I can bear to watch on the Idiot's Lantern downstairs - Antiques Roadshow. Nothing resembling any of the old tut we have around here so I guess won't be retiring early on the proceeds of the ming dynasty vase which we were accidentally using as an umbrella stand. *sigh*

'Twas only a minor scorch on the arm, can't even see reddened skin now, only a bit tender.

Whenever I see one of the US presidents, I am irresistably reminded of that bit in HHG about the president's job being to distract attention from the people who were really in charge, and how Zaphod Beeblebrox was one of the best presidents they had ever had.......

Hell, if I'd seriously thought Dubya was in charge of anythng, I wouldn't have slept at night. Fortunately, if Trump wins, the symbiote roosting on his cranium (intergalacticus tribbilus var syrup) will actually be running the show.

Could be worse, lovely peeps, could be worse........:p

Actually, it's a reference to The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, not the Universe.

Galaxy, Universe, Multiverse, seen one one, seen them all :)
Currently immersed in The Long Dark Teatime Of The Soul, simple mistake, pleased to see Siebrie is another great mind ;)

    Of course.

Post a pic as soon as you've finished making them ;)
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

House Bought July 2020 - 19 years 0 months remaining on term
Next Step: Bathroom renovation booked for January 2021
Goal: Keep the bigger picture in mind...

I had enough of a problem building an orrery - distinctly not to scale (and missing many moons - just couldn't calculate the mechanisms).
Anyway Lyn got in first with assigning the almost impossible tasks :)

    You don't need to.

The Vogons are on their way, to the destroy the Earth, to make way for an intergalactic highway.

    Multiverse

Would that be the DC Multiverse?

:) My employer's Planning Department have already received the plans for this. They are now filed in the basement, inside a locked filing cabinet inside a disused toilet cubicle, with a barred door bearing a sign Beware of the Tiger.

Your window of opportunity to file offical objections to said plans has already expired and there's no point in whining about it if you can't be bothered to pay attention to events in your own solar system.

Pass the peanuts, dude, and check all towels are clean and ready for takeoff. Chocs away!

    Wash your mouth out.

I'd have been late teens when Heinlein published 'Beast, so I probably came across the concept first from Schrodinger, though I couldn't be certain at this distance.

I've no idea when DC started rebooting their various franchises and re-writing canon and backplot to fit their "multiverse" or when they came to use the term - always preferred Lee and Kirby as a kid, and Gaiman later.
  • Slightly concerning on the news over the past 24 hours of illegals having to be rescued from just off the Kent coast, Albanians including a woman and 2 children. I guess it was an inevitable that was going to happen sooner of later, the worrying one wasn't this though but 2 Iranians caught in a dinghy trying to make landfall in the same sort of area. I wonder how many illegal migrants have made it without being detected and what their motives are for coming in like that? It's going to make us even more xenophobic than we already are isn't it? and really who could blame us!!! The government needs to stop wasting tax payers money on useless campaigns and start spending quite a lot of it on border and general defence and controls!!!

You lot are seriously bats. Not sane and normal like me. Is there a planet that grows jellybabies? Or better still a planet that's discovered a permanent cure for heartburn and then I could eat earth jellybabies... sob!
Was reviewing my stores yesterday. Does 3 FB pies, 10 tins of carrots, and 3 tins of beans constitute a store upboard? I dono where my stash went. Please don't let the S hit just now until I can fill that cupboard again!
