:) Have extracted my prescription from Lloyds. It only took 3 visits, each 24 hours apart, to get 6 small boxes of tablets. Have also said a polite goodbye to them. I have hopes of Shoes, the one time I did use them, they had to order my stuff in, but it was ready the following day as per when they said it would be there, all bagged and ready to collect, and the pick-up took seconds.

What annoyed me about Lloyds was that after 10 years + of filling this script every month, they still only ever had 4 out of 6 boxes in stock, and when I'd drop off the script, I'd say, I know you won't have all this, I'll come back this time tomorrow.

24 hours on would be 5 hours past the time of their morning delivery run, ample time I'd've thought to bag it up and have it ready. *and breathe*

:( I'm having some S hitting my personal fan right now, BC scare ongoing. Waiting to see the specialist clinic for tests. Hopefully it's just something trivial like a cyst and not cancer, but we'll be a few weeks getting to that answer, dammit.:(

GQ, fingers crossed all is ok. The staff in my local Lloyds are friendly, chatty and totally useless. I was once buying some sterile dressing for hubby, one of the assistants got it out of the sealed box to see if it was the correct one, dropped in on the floor, trod on it, all the time giggling merrily. She was most offended when I refused to buy it AS IT WAS NO LONGER STERILE!

I hope it will prove to be a cyst etc, GQ. I've been through that wait twice myself, it was cysts each time, thankfully, a nurse there tried to buck me up by saying it was only 1 in 25 clinic attendees who got the worst news.

:) Thanks, my lovelie. My GP has told me that BC doesn't usually present with this kind of pain but, because Mum has had it, they're being cautious and sending me to the clinic. The referral letter came today (didn't see the GP until Weds after work) and I've spoken the the clinic this aft and they can't see me until the other side of Easter weekend.

I'm keeping schtumm about this with family, a few friends know. I don't want to stress my elderly parents. If the worst comes to the worst, I'll tell them then, otherwise, I just get on with it. Realistically, I'm relatively young for it and, as you say, most people investigated don't have it, thank goodness.

:( What a thing about this water in parts of Derbyshire, hey? Helluva thing to be told you can't use your water for anything (I suppose you can still flush the loo with it).

I sometimes feel a wee bit daft having stored water, but I'm happy to know that I have enough of this essential supply to see me through for a while.

Ascorbic acid and sodium ascorbate both dechlorinate water.

Effervescent Vitamin C Tablets (sold in pharmacies, including Lloyds ;)) can neutralise around 100 gallons of water.

In a SHTF situation, you could also leave it a bucket the sun for around 24 hours, or boil it for around 20 minutes - both allow the chlorine and chloramine to evaporate.

(handy hit for fish fanciers... Vit C tabs are fine for fish. Plus, my cat fish loved the bubbles :D)
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
