And this is a negative outcome?
I love Jim Butcher and Kelley Armstrong, too. Interesting to see the common choices and the things I've never even heard of.
I love reading, too, have often joked that my idea home would comprise of a small flat attached to the Central Library, with a secret door for me to sneak through, out of hours.
Sounds perfect lol.
Think I partly fell for my hubby because I saw all the books he owed

Friday for me tonight!
Rocking the night away with hot chocolate and the ER boxset :cool:That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

Heh, I've gotta cuppa and a Dresden Files box set.
Glad I live alone tonight. Have been on the go all day at work, then hustled to get up to the allotment, walked the 1.25 miles, went to pull my keyring out of the bag and discovered I had the flat keys and not the bigger ring with the gate key and shed key. Turned around and walked back again, telling myself exercise in beautiful sunny but chilly spring weather is a virtue on its own account.
Went into the pharmacy to pick up the prescription I'd dropped off 24 hours earlier. For some reason they can never keep all 6 boxes of tabs in, so they have to order another two up. Identified myself at the counter, the assistant found the bagged ones they did have, and the other two boxes and the pharmacist just had to do something to issue this and it wouldn't be a minute.
Twenty flipping minutes later, I went back to the counter and told them I had to go now, I'd be back in another 24 hours (which will mean that this errand will have taken 3 trips). This is my routine every month, anything from 3-4 visits over 8 days to get this script filled.
I'm in a proper moodie tonight, but I've been their customer for over 10 years and I fill this script once a month and is it really beyond the realms of probability that they might just be able to keep this tablet in stock? It's not rare or expensive, it's definately not an opiate, why should this be such a faddle? I have decided to divorce my pharmacy and seek a significant relationship elsewhere.:rotfl:
Heck, they might still screw it up, but at least I'll have a different store to look at whilst killing time.

Talking of things pharmaceutical the meds preps that I run with as a matter of course are earning their keep as He Who Knows has a stonker of a virus and to be able to give him the flu strength cold capsules as he came in yesterday meant making him less uncomfortable immediately plus the night time ones last night let him sleep. I'll replace what we use but it's not just in a crisis that being stocked up and prepared is useful. He's feeling pretty grotty at the moment but it's just that time of night when you're at low ebb after a days fighting off germs, I hate to think how he'd be feeling if we hadn't had things to hand yesterday.0

I'm envying the Dresden box set though not the faff at the chemist.
I have my own box set - much more superficial, but then, I *am*, sometimes - Burn Notice Season 5I love 1 -4, so what's to lose
Plus Ender's Game :j I had a splurge (£6) while I was buying a book on Amazon at my mother's request.

There's some nasty colds about atm, both Mum and Dad are ill this week, Mum much the worse, even throwing up at one point. They caught it off Kid Bruv, who's slowly on the mend. The cats, The Queen of Sheba and Wild Thing are OK and helping out as best they can with lap-hogging and mucho purring.
I felt a bit rough earlier in the week and got the old HWB out. It's amazing how comforting an old fashioned remedy like this can be.Sorry for venting all over you. I am menopausal and overtired right now. But I'm still getting another pharmacy. I put up with it for so long because they're very pleasant people there, but that's not winning out against inefficiency for me right now. I shall decamp to Shoes and see how they compare.
Roll on Easter weekend, I could do with a break.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Most definitely - Blokes are great. Some of my best friends are blokes. But having to make nice with someone day-in day-out, just not going to happen.
My day was (I think) much less frustrating than yours, but my feet are killing me.
Formal committee today, so that means a jacket and heels. Plus making nice to all the attendees. Does anyone else work with senior doctors?
Is it just me that has the urge to say something 'career limiting' when they pat you on the arm in the middle of the meeting and ask you to fetch them a coffee from the refreshments table?
Plus, walking to work and back in heels = unhappy me.
Trouble is my smart trousers are hemmed for heels, so if I go in and out in flats, the bottoms get trashed.
But. Good news is my new walking boots have arrived - apparently they've been delivered to a neighbour (which I discovered after shedding my clothes and donning my jimjams) so I can pick them up tomorrow.
Having combined my fishing/hiking/overnight bags, I've got a decent sized bag free and intend to start going to the local market (6 mile round trip) once or twice a month.
I think building up relationships with the veg and meat guys there, plus the regular exercise, will be good for me and my personal resilience. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

NewShadow, I have many male friends, am a rather bloke-y kind of lass and often get on better with men than women, particularly if the women are the very girlie fashionista types. But live with one again? Why would I want to be so cruel to some poor s0d?:rotfl:
One thing I have observed about men is that they can be pretty sly about getting out of doing something they don't want to do by pretending incompetance. If verbally expressing incompetance (combined with flattery over how well you do something, compared to them) fails, and they're made to do something they really don't want to do...........
Well, at that point, do it but do it badly. Such as fetching the coffee with a willing smile and a wobbly hand. Which accidentally causes said coffee to land in a doctorly lap. Repeat as many times as necessary, varying perhaps with spilling coffee over the table/ laptop/ notes.
Of course, you will be terribly terribly apologetic, explain there's this slight familial essential tremour, nothing serious but you're sooooo bad with liquids, better if they got their own coffee, really.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I grew up in the '50's so remember what it was like.
Ten years ago when I was buying a 2nd hand car many of the salesmen would talk to hubby, he doesn't bloody drive!
Twenty years ago I was running my own IT business, I was regularly asked 'Is there a man I can speak to, I have a technical question'. My reply varied depending on my mood, but often said 'I'll go and call Steve in to take your call, he's the gardener and knows bu&&er all about IT, but he has a !!!! if that helps!'
GQ, your pharmacy sounds like mine, it can take 2 or 3 visits to collect my script, is it a Lloyds pharmacy?Chin up, Titus out.0
