On the subject of woolly hats, did you guys hear the nickname the British soldiers had for the Falkland Islanders? They all wore woolly hats like feeble minded Benny in Crossroads, so the soldiers referred to them as 'The Bennys'.
I once heard an anecdote for an ex-Para who was in that conflict about one part of the British forces there who got spooked and shot up a beach - their shots were too high to injure the penguins which were what they had heard, fortunately..............:rotfl:
Sadly, my black fleece burglar hat has been missing for some weeks, am hoping it will turn up, but otherwise I shall have to shop for another one. I'm large-framed for a woman and have a skull which is totally unsuitable for 'women's' hats as they'd be like a pressure bandage on me.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Glad I'm not the only 'big head' around here. I despair with the average woolly hat. I may get them in situ to start with, but within 5 minutes they squeeze upwards to end up perched precariously on the top of my head and attracting some very strange looks....0

Me too! My sister bought me a pleasant woolly hat for Xmas, with a fleece inner liner, and I couldn't get it on my head at all - she bought a replacement, and that stays on for a while, but I haven't tried it in the wind yet ...2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I love normal children`s sweet liquorice, the long ropes with icing stuck on them
I have a tub of DGL lozenges in the bedroom, for when I feel that heartburn might come on. The harmful bit has been taken out, the blood pressure raising bit0 -
Not heard of that kittie, not sure if I'd like it. I got ginger ale - the real stuff not extract - and ginger & liquorice tea which helps the heartburn a wee bit. Just been out a WALK!! OOTSIDE!!! the sky is blue, the birds are cheeping, the sun is warm. I have lived in jammies since before xmas, hardly ever been out apart from 10 mins down the road to the Postvan to get my pension and send letters. I look like something in the last stages of consumption - very pale but maybe not very interesting.0

I'm another one with a larger than average head. It was a nightmare trying to buy a hat for DDs wedding. DH wouldn't believe me when I said that most shops only made women's hats in one size but after a long morning searching he changed his mind!
I did get one from M&S in the end-they do do more than one size.0 -

It is not only Deutsche Bank that is in trouble. Barclays and Citibank have also been mentioned as in significant trouble. Since these are all the biggest derivative traders then it might be that they have huge losses on their derivative books. There have been huge swings in commodity prices and currencies recently and so this will create problems for banks. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0
