I once heard an anecdote for an ex-Para who was in that conflict about one part of the British forces there who got spooked and shot up a beach - their shots were too high to injure the penguins which were what they had heard, fortunately..............:rotfl:

Bad night for the poor donkey. Never go out for nocturnal strolls without memorising the password for the night.
Oh, and the burglar fleece hat has just been found, so all is well with the world. All I need now is to locate my eye mask and swag bag and then I can go out tonight properly accessorised for some tea-leafery.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

This profanity filter is getting beyond a joke
It's very arbitrary, isn't it? You can write Mafiosi but not M a f i a. I didn't know M a f i a was a swear word until I used it here and got !!!!! instead.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Do you mean the salt liquorice like they love in holland?
mouth puckering. I couldn`t eat them

I love normal children`s sweet liquorice, the long ropes with icing stuck on them
I have a tub of DGL lozenges in the bedroom, for when I feel that heartburn might come on. The harmful bit has been taken out, the blood pressure raising bit

Hello people RL intruding again ..... dads still giving me a few tins a week .. so i am default prepping..... Monday just gone had a gastroscopy the throat one.... not a pleasant experience that revealed i have gastritus and reflux....not too bad can live with that but they did 4 biopsy's ... its always unsettling to see that on the letter to the Gp..... it may be they do that as a matter of course but still unsettling.... Worried about the state of stock market at the mo .... negative interest rates.....put my flight on credit card but paid 3/4 s off and will pay rest next pay day.....so looking forward to LA......hope you are all ok0

So the NHS are still doing that outdated awful procedure - gastroscopy with that tube down the throat?! Poor Daz - hope everything works out for you.
That rather confirms my suspicions that I won't be going anywhere near a doctor re the acid reflux I've been having problems with recently. There's no point - whilst I'd land up in an argument with them if they tried proposing that idea (and I promptly told them there is a more modern acceptable alternative - the "Contac pill" size camera swallowed down the throat - and so that was my decision on what to do) and I'd probably end up heading out the door with them having done nothing.
So I'm keeping up the aloe vera and slippery elm and focusing on losing the remaining surplus weight to get rid of it once and for all. Am now doing the time-limited eating too (ie making sure I have all my calories within a 12 hour timespan - in my case between 7am and 7pm). That has the side benefit of my finishing eating relatively early of an evening (not an easy message to get home to those people who are careless in their own eating times and unbothered about having dinner very late of an evening if I am eating at "theirs" LOL).
I'd been wondering if there is a medical reason for the fact that some people won't eat leftovers (eastern religious idea???) and an article in yesterday's paper was talking about what can happen to food (an end result of which can make it more fattening) if its processed and that also includes some pre-prepared chopped vegetables. So much for some of the new food bloggers that prepare a whole week's worth of chopped veg. and store in their fridge to eat over the coming week then....no more vegetables chopped in advance for me then (and that'll mean some leftovers thrown out in the process).0 -
Wasn't Barclay's going to / did sell part of the bank?? The loss making/ business part to make it more stable??? Or am I mixing it up with something else??
So is it watch this space and watch the SHTF with the global economy and see how it pans out, or do you have some thoughts on what might happen next??
Re NHS treatment.. You can not demand a treatment that prob cost way more than what they offer, they haven't got an endless pit of money, and what they do have they got to make sure they can maximise the amount of care/ treatment they can give... The NHS is doing its best under this crap government.. If its not good enough, or if you think you know better, then go private..
Is 2tonsil still around?? As I know before I took a breather from the thread, I hadn't seen any posts from them.. Used to love reading their posts..Work to live= not live to work0
