MrsLurcherwalker wrote: »Thank you for being so kind to me, the fault is entirely mine, I replied in heat and too robustly to one of Kezs posts and my reply was deleted which I guess was the correct action by the guides. I'm not going to totally stop posting here but will consider my replies not just in light of what they contain but in light also of any offence they may cause to even one other reader here, so I may not post as regularly.
I am speechless. I don't post to often as I can't handle the way some people reply and struggle with the unnecessary viciousness on line but I think you are the fairest person on here and have seen you pour oil on troubled water on different threads many many times. Just wow.0 -
I guess I'm saying very badly that I admire you for posting so open and honestly and please don't stop. You will never know me or how you inspire me. I think your posts are warm funny and above all helpful. I wish I had a tenth of your tack and diplomacy x0

I suppose prepping also includes dealing with bickering on internet forums
Lot of talk in the Scottish political forums about the latest round of welfare cuts by Iain Duncan Smith who lives in his father in laws £2million mansion.. if you are vulnerable at all in any way, please vote this verminous govt out in May. I feel almost murderous when I read what they're doing.0 -
Well...its a new day now...and can we get back on topic please (ie prepping)?0

If it's what you want, then start one. No reason you can't be the person to make it happen.
I run an informal co op for family and friends, 6 households in all. We place orders on an ad hoc basis.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Good Morning preppers, another nice day here and we've finally got to the end of processing the wood from the demolition across the road, the woodpile is looking VERY healthy again, nice to have that in place before we even stop burning this year!
Thank you everyone for your kind messages I'm touched by your care and kindness, it makes me feel very humble and very lucky to have your friendship .
I'd also like to appologise to KEZ for the strength of my post to her that set yesterdays events in motion, I really am sorry for having been so forthright to you, it was not intended as an attack on you personally . I didn't even tell Fuds you'd PMd me lovey, it's not my place and never will be to give her advice she hasn't asked me for or try to influence her in her personal life, she's her own person. You have as much right as any one of us to continue to post on this and any other moneysaving thread don't stop posting because of a small spat with me or anyone else. Your input is as valuable as any other one of us and you might just have the right words to help someone through a problem time in the future. This is a democracy and your voice is as valuable here as the greatest and the smallest members is, move forward love, put it behind you and stay in the thread.0 -

There's a fairly old adage about co-ops; don't look for one to join, start one.
I've been involved in founding several over the years, the first started because I was passing a fruit wholesalers on a regular basis and fruit and veg in the village we lived in was poor quality and stupidly expensive.
The most formal one needed a couple of hours commitment most weeks, had 107 members and was taking delivery of 4-5 tonnes of food per month from a wholefood supplier as well as organising "one off" buys of other bulk products between some of its members (eg bulk wax pellets for those making candles).
Currently I'm involved in something more akin to Baileys Babe fairly ad hoc, it could be as simple as splitting a 20Kg sack of basmati rice between half a dozen households or a bulk buy of meat between three families.

I'm currently working on identifying what resources are here and what are still needed here and useful possible starting-off points/venues for the Things Missing. The coffee is brewing you could say and am contemplating options, whilst cafetiere sits there on the side ready.
To date, I'm helping keep several existing things going and focusing on one in particular that is teetering a bit on the one hand and possible useful springboard for other things on the other hand. Its a very different setting to my previous area...where it was quite easy to see that person A needed to be introduced to person B and this organisation co-ordinating with that organisation etc and the shape of the "web" was pretty clear. Don't know how well anything would work community-wise here...as there seem to be 2 different "sections in the community" who run things and a 3rd one that gets involved with one of them. Still getting my head round the connections here accordingly....hmmm...there is a Major Mover person here involved with both the two major groups
Time will tell..:)0 -
Kezlou, thats a heartfelt apology from MrsLurcherWalker, I hope you can accept it and stay prepping with the rest of us.
As for my own prepping ... it's still decluttering/cleaning/weeding. Seems neverending ... I got the seeds out from a few years agobut nowhere to plant them yet
