MrsL don't you dare stop posting or I will send you threatening PMs! lol
Use the ignore function - I have so many on ignore that the forum has more holes than posts some days :D:D
  • So what's the latest prepping everyone is doing at the moment?

From what I saw Lyn, you leapt to the defence of another poster who has been victimised before.

As Armyknife says, this is a very 'sheltered' site. Not saying that this is wrong, given that many of the people on here are vulnerable, or not in a good place. It must be murder having to police this, but it isn't the first time that posts like yours have been deleted while the kind of snide comments that elicit them go under the radar.

Will do MAR, and you can PM me any way on any day my friend, you'll always be welcome!

I am still in the wrong DAWN, no matter the reasons for posts I MUST consider their effects and wouldn't willingly give offence to anyone. I try to stand up for anyone who is being put upon by any other poster and always will because I hate unfairness and will always try to cheer them up if I can. I guess it's a lesson well worth the learning that our words must be carefully considered before posting anything here or elsewhere on the moneysaving boards, the guides are after all only doing their job and my post must have been reported!

Ooh, I've never done that - I operate on the principle of "keep your enemies closer" an' all that :p

Seriously, MrsLurcherWalker, I sort of remember that post, but I also remember many, many of your posts that have been really important in a positive way. Please keep posting.
ETA - and just seen DawnW's post too, obviously I don't remember the *whole* thing. Listen to the experienced ones, the ones you know and respect (like Mar and DawnW).

Prepping: I'm learning how to design a prepping book cover :money: thank heavens for digital photography, not film, is all I can say.

I'm getting out into the garden to tackle the blackberry runners that have overwhelmed my perennials since I was last able to garden.

I'm creating space to start up other strands of income, and to make myself more mobile, cos I really, really don't trust the way things are going.

"My own take is working on getting financially straight (as in house finished, etc) and expecting to carry on living life pretty much as normal even IF...with the back-up plan of that bottle of whisky (or, in my case, bottle of champagne) if normal life was no longer possible."

This is our take on things.
Also,I prefer champagne and Chanel but know I can get along with lemonade and Lifebuoy.
Our two daughters and their families are doing ok so just need to launch son onto an unsuspecting world:rotfl:
He is going to probably going to need more financial help, (he is only 15, I went to the doctors for HRT and somehow came out pregnant) so got to get him through Uni etc.

Your best is all you can do:D

Prepping, only thing I'v done is sort out my seed's for planting this weekend.

  • Whoops...and that reminds me....must get some seeds planted out, even if part of my garden isn't usable yet...nevertheless I can get a fair bit from the bit that is.

It does help once you start recognising what is what as it comes up...if only from the pov of thinking "Darn it...I could have sworn I'd removed every last flowerbulb in the garden from previous owners time, but that looks a lot like a couple of daffodils that have come up there".

Note to self = must not eat daffodils, where I thought I was going to get spring onions.
