Just wanted to say "Happy Christmas" to you all.
DH and I have been to the afternoon Cathedral carol service, then grabbed a bite to eat in town before coming home. The service was just lovely and I'm feeling utterly peaceful and full of festive joy.
Our day tomorrow will be pretty quiet. We're off to see DSD, her partner and our beautiful little DGD for a couple of hours in the morning, then picking up DMiL from her care home to have her here for the afternoon (or as long as she can handle before confusion tires and upsets her). Christmas dinner will be late afternoon/early evening.
My wish for you all is that the Christmas season brings you exactly what you hope for, that those spending time with loved ones are able to cherish their special time together and that those who are alone (whether by choice or not) will not be sad or lonely.Avoiding plastic, palm oil and Nestlé0 -

Not sure if being female is an advantage (as with humans) or a disadvantage, but based on the 12 to 14 years, Buggalugs is already bucking the trend, and she's in pretty good fettle.
We lost ours a month ago at age 15, but he'd been in renal failure for 4 years. I had one tom who made it to 32, though he also bucked the trend regarding sleep - two hours was a long sleep for him. Hopefully Buggalugs will annoy, amuse and bemuse you for many years to come.
Hope everyone has the good fortune to enjoy whatever holiday they celebrate in a way that they wish and that the weather doesn't cause too much disruption.0 -

Happy Christmas one and all from me too! We are going down to DD's for lunch (she just lives down the road, too close sometimes!!!) There will be 14 of us - including her 3 children and 5 more!! I offered to buy the meat and take it down when ready, so I have a large turkey crown, a big piece of gammon and a huge piece of beef all lined up waiting to go in the oven. I don't recall offering to make the starters but somehow I have ended up making those as well!!! Have a wonderful day everybody!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. Happy Christmas everyone. Just me and the family dog but still doing the full monte for lunch - so chicken, pork loin, chestnut stuffing, cranberry sauce, apple sauce, roasties in goose fat, sprouts etc.
Tradition? Maybe.

Merry Christmas Everyone...
Hope everyone is well and this weather hasn't caused too much of a problem...
But I do feel guilty and relieved at the same time( relieved that at the moment the weather has only had a minor effect on us) about the people who have lost everything, and who have been flooded out over the last day or two, and those people without electricity again today...
I think more and more people will slowly start pepping, for weather related SHTF...
So I hope we get more and more people finding this thread on the interweb...Work to live= not live to work0 -
Merry Christmas, one & all! The turkey's in, the stuffing's made, the troops are snoring and their "stockings" (actually Christmas Morsbags, this year) are a-waiting… and it's hailing fit to bust out there! Interesting journey to collect DS1 yesterday, which took 6½ hours instead of 3, and his little house may well be underwater now, but he seems quite unworried.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

Let's hope those in the affected areas are helping each other out.
Might be selling up in the Spring and if I do buy again, where that property is situated will be the prime consideration.0
