  • Just thought I'd pop in and say thanks for all the (millions of) tips on OS, you've all saved me a few pounds on food already and I've thought many times, hey, my mum used to do that! :)

I made garlic bread on Monday, it was mediocre  but my garlic mash, beans & sausages were great last night and I'm now munching on sausage sandwhiches with tomato sauce, mustard and a little rocket, mmmmm damn it's tasty, and cost pence!

Leftovers from last night + tin of toms + rice = a very tasty, very cheap risotto tonight :) As usual my housemate will have a go at me for not cooking for him but I can eat cheaper on my own and I don't like eating what he makes cos he, er, can't cook at all to put it bluntly :rotfl:

I do like this board, like most things in life once I read it I think well that's bleedin' obvious, why didn't I think of that before?!

I have a question - am I the only person on old style who isn't a mum?!
I am not really an Eskimo. I can hear what you're thinking... "Inuit!"
  • Welcome to Eskimo - don't dare to ask what a *donger* is   :p

Haribo - I'm not a huge housework fan - I'd rather be sewing, knitting, gardening or cooking, but ironing is my *least worst* jon. I'll do your ironing if you clean my kitchen floor and surfaces - deal

Churchmouse - best wishes to you and your dad. Think my mother's just starting to go like that, but sometimes it's difficult to tell

Paulie's Girl - eyes crossed for you, too! :T

Having not been posting as regularly as I used to, I know I've missed lots of birthdays, so take a HM muffin all round!

It's cold and bright here, but think there might be snow when I venture out soon over the Yorkshire wolds.

Hope the sunshine holds - need to get into the garden tomorrow.

    Morning Everyone:D

Its Little Miss Shez's 3rd birthday today - so it was Asda Clown Cake for Brekkie! yum - We have already done Chocolate coin maker and dora aqua draw pics and played ponyville - all before work!!! :rotfl: (3yrs ago when I had her it was actually Mothering Sunday!)

If anyone wants a bargain, I saw the Choccy Coin Maker in Tesco's yesterday reduced to £3.74 from £14!!! which is what I paid for it in Argos (so was not amused! one bargain that had passed me by!) oh well.

She will officially start afternoon nursery tomorrow:T (let the mayhem commence!):rotfl: she is off to asda to buy a pink scooter today - so she has her own and hopefully no more arguments about using DS one!

    pgirl & scuzz - Well Done:T
tiredmum - glad yr wardrobes are almost finished!
moggins - have got my ear plugs in ready!!! ouch!!
jw1096 - Nice to see you back!

better get on - have a good day all xx

No, you're not the only one - there are loads of us who aren't ;) We come in all ages, shapes and sizes here - and there are even a few (don't say it too loudly in case it scares them away) men :shhh:

Edit: Shez, happy 3rd birthday to your DD (eeek, I can't type this morning, that came out as "bitherday" first time!)

Morning all, the board has eaten my post, so am writing out another!!

    First things first....

Welcome Lambanana~the people here are so warm and kind, I hope you'll love it here!!

Scuzz - congratulations on the flat! And that's fab news for Paulie'sGirl too!

To those who are ironing today, or thinking of it... good luck! I hate ironing!! I only rally do OHs work shirts and anything for interviews/special occasions! My late Grandad used to iron everything... including jeans, hankies and socks!! Nan had him trained eh??

Sending hugs hugs to.... CCStar, sahmx5, tinkerbelluk and catznine.... there are lots of hugs still going, so if anyone else would like some, they are yours!

Trying to have an 'at home' one today.... need to arrange getting my hair cut... I was worried thet I didn't have the money, but then I saw that OH owes me 3 weeks worth of his 'keep', so I can treat myself to a haircut at least!!

Other than that, I have lots of laundry to do... this flat is going to resemble wishee-washees place by the end of the day!!

A question: would you prefer to hire a private tutor with professional ads or a typed piece of paper stuck on a piece of card? I'm with the professional one... just have to sort out the design and wording etc!

Also have to sort out stuff to sell on Ebay and Etsy.... oh and have a nice Lush bath!!

Busy busy again.... although I'm only working 3 days this week, I'm far from having proper day off!

    Have a good one!! xx

    Morning all,

sahmx5 and CCstar, I hope things get better soon.
    Eskimo's Donger and Lambanana, Welcome!
Paulie's Girl, you sound on top of the world. Congratulations!
Scuzz, I hope you enjoy your new flat.
jw1096, It's great to see you posting again
Tinkerbell, good luck with the dissertation, I hope you get some sleep soon.

Happy Birthday little Miss Shez :bdaycake:

To those who hate ironing, this is how mine gets done! :D Mr Pink is not going to be happy if he notices I've posted that pic!

I've done all the morning stuff and the school run and I’m just having a cup of coffee to help me feel able to join the rest of you in the land of the living.

Todays to do list is the kids rooms so wish me luck! Tonight is a mad night in our house. I'm working and the boys have scouts and beavers. With everyone coming in and going out again at different times tea will be soup and a pud and they can all help themselves when it suits.

I hope you're all having a good day and hugs to those who are aren't.
