... after a very bad end to the day which involved me crying in the car on the way home.
Aw man *offers a hug* Hope everything starts to look up my dear.
My plan for a bottle of red tonight didn't happen, it cost me £4.74 to post a book I sold on Amazon and I needed to buy cheese, ham & bread for tomorrow, so I spent £8 today instead of the planned £3
The good news is I've super chilled some Martini and it's just about palatable! So, now for the last two episodes of season one of Lost and I'm off to bedI am not really an Eskimo. I can hear what you're thinking... "Inuit!"0 -
Good evening.
Just a quick look as I've reports/deadlines to meet.Oh, and he has signed up for one of those fish salesmen who come to the door, all entirely unauthorised as I was bathing DS2 at the time. Going off to check their website and find out all the things he forgot to ask - like where the fish comes from, is it fresh, how much does it cost etc.
I can say this because you don't live near me. There was a spate of burgularies in our lane and a new fish van arrived. We had been warned by the police to report 'unusual activity' so several of us phoned about the fish van. Half an hour later a policeman rang back and said, 'the company is legitimate but the fish is rubbish'. Poor guys didn't stand a chance and were never seen again.Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
Good evening everyone,
lots of *hugs* to all those who need them - I'm a bit behind on the threads for the last couple of days, so I'll need to go read up.
It's a bit chilly here just now, but thankfully not as bad as it has been the past couple of days. Hopefully this means we've seen the last of the snow - I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
It's nice to see more newbies - so hello to you all
rchddap1 - great to hear lily is doing so well :j
twink - I saw those easter eggs in asda today too, and managed to not pick any up - aren't you proud of me?Really wanted the chocolate though!
(and I'm another person who doesn't have any kids - yet)
*hugs* to all, take or leave as you please...0 -
vickya - Funny I saw that book on the shelf today!!! (obviously noticing it because of pride n prejudice!)
Sadly Stuart Maconie's looks aren't in the Mr Darcey/Colin Firth league. However, his dry wit more than makes up for it.Obviously, DH just has to put up with me drooling over SM's dulcet Wigan tones and witty repartee.

But the relaxing tones of Richard Allinson are not heard often enough these days!Member #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
I nearly wrote to the BBC demanding to know why Chris Evans had got the Radio 2 drivetime slot instead of Stuart Maconie. I didn't after DH had pointed out that maybe SM had better things to do! Surely he doesn't have better things to do because he's got to make me laugh on my way home from work

I do't know if this will allow me to post I got thrown off earlier.
OH backed my car into a concrete bollard today damage £750!!!!! Boy did I have a job not to shout scream and rave........at least he looked penitant when he told me about it.so more stress. I phoned the insurers.....we will get a courtesy car, it will be in for 3 days......but because I will not allow it to go to their preferred repairers I have to wait for the inspector to pass it....tough, I want it done by the main dealer not some back street chap in the pay of the insurers. I had one car repaired like this and the spraying did not match the oiginal paint, it went back 3 times they never did get it right, I paid for it to be done at the main dealer, perfect........
The painters are in the apartment....we could see them through the windows. I have emptied the wall cupboards today so they are ready to take down I hope she is going to do them sometime this week..........we cannot decide which ones are going where until we can get in and measure the wall space.
I did sleep better last night, but have no energy at all.....still taking pain killers, I have a regular prescription at the chemist and she remarked today that it was ages since I had called in for repeat scripts to be filled so frequently.....I have one more script then I have to see the Dr.
I forgot to put the supper on tonight, so we ended up having cold meat and salad............oh well we do not have too much longer to go, 3 weeks today we will have moved..............I will be off line from 26th NTL are closing my service then, we expected to have moved then, but I cannot be bothered to get them to put the date back, they will only make a mess up of it.
Right I am off to watch TV for a while................
Sorry to hear about your accident - it is so frustrating.
They should repair it quickly tho':)
