Well as he's off sick he certainly can't afford just a few miles away. He would be too unwell to cycle to work. He wouldn't get a loan as he has a bad credit rating. Thanks for advice.0

The other 2 people have left the job so there is just he and his friend. There isnt anyone else that could pick him up. We live in a village so not bus transport to the area he works. I am on ESA/DLA so could not afford a scooter. He has worked for a month then the next 2 weeks on and off due to being ill and then the next 6 weeks off work totally.
That's very unfortunate but I doubt the employer or job-centre will see it that way.:(
He's actually had more than six weeks off sick, does he have an on-going health problem which his eployer know about and did he tell them? Is he getting any money at the moment?Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

he should speak to human resources see if anyone else could offer a lift, unfortunately living in all that fresh air surrounded by green fields in a pretty village comes with a price tag0

Could he cycle as far as the nearest convenient public transport hub?0

Yes, he is vomiting a lot and feels very unwell. he has had this on and off for quite a long time. He is providing sick notes. He has an appt for a gastroscopy but that's not until September.0

You do not need to have a good credit rating to get a loan to buy a scooter. Many credit unions with the help of a guarantor will lend money to youngsters to help them get a scooter to get a job. There are also organisations that help.Well as he's off sick he certainly can't afford just a few miles away. He would be too unwell to cycle to work. An example. http://www.sryp.org.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=56&Itemid=67. The Somerset Rural Youth Project will help youngsters who live in rural villages of Somerset secure transport to get to/from work. The recipient of the Moped pays £20 per week.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I agree, the priority at the moment should be his health not his job.

Yes he is on ssp at the moment. He doesn't need a 2nd opinion just yet! His health does come 1st before his job, he can't go to work vomiting all the time. He works in a brewery so I don't think they'd want him there while he's being sick!0
