You probably should just pay up though and take it as a lesson learned. It is very selfish to create a new space just to suit yourself.

Sorry but this actually did make me laugh out loud!! And im affraid that is not allowed, you made me disturb the person beside me and that’s very selfish so that’s a £100 fine but I will knock it down to £50 if you pay it tonight!!

She parked in a space she thought would be OK to park in but obviously it wasn’t within a nicely painted white box but I’m pretty sure the place didn’t grind to a halt cos of a few dodgy parked cars. It gets like that cos they don’t have enough spaces simple as that. If it was only a few days a year that it was like that ie Christmas then fine but it’s not it’s every weekend. I have been there a good few times and even though there were a few badly parked cars I was able to soldier on and drove around them, and after driving around and around and around the full car park I finally got a space.

Now what do management do to fix the problem, nothing they send out the Gestapo to slap tickets onto cars after the fact and try and make some money out of them.

And softly, softly approach what not try the smarty smarty approach? Why not get them to direct traffic like at the odyssey or other big car parks when they are busy....... oh I know why, it cos they can’t make money out of that!!!

Tracey, tell them to shove their ticket and to build an appropriate sized car park for the complex.

By your logic people might as well just leave their cars in the middle of the main road - so long as there is room to drive round them then where is the problem?

And do you seriously need guidance from a parking attendant to figure out where you should or should not park? Catch a hold of yourself.
  • simpleservant i'm in the exact same position as you! So I got a ticket in September. I am onto my 2nd picture letter and 1st letter from the debt recovery agent.
The best advice is from RikM.
Don't pay. I'm not! And on the offchance that they do take me to court I have a wealth of printing to do from this site and others, and advice given by solicitors and barristers on a recent steven nolan show....to back up why I didn't.
£90 to cover me being over the line for 15 minutes is not a fair charge. And I was over the line because so was the other car....and it was because of another car...perhaps we should have split the bill?
So don't let it get you in a bad mood.
The question I would ask is.....why under data protection are our details being given to private companies? I would be happy enough if it was the police....but not them.
And their sign is totally tiny. I'd never heard the like of it before. Good luck and keep your money to buy yourself something worth while. I'm spending the money that they want me to donate to them on new car tyres.

Now that is a good idea, demolish half of the shops, tarmac over and as there will only be half the business there should be plenty of room for the cars.

Now where did I say in the middle of the road, please tell me? If she’s parked and 2 lanes of traffic can get by then I’m pretty sure most people have the driving skills to be able to cope with that.

And congratulations on your psychic ability to know when there are spaces at the other side of a car park or do you mean people should just keep driving around and around to try and find these spots causing more traffic jams?

If only there were some people who walk around the car park all day watching all the cars, they could be informing drivers or where spaces are before the problems arise instead of trying to make money out of when the problems do arise. Hhhmm wait there is.

The place isn’t crazy cos of a few cars parked badly its crazy cos there isn’t enough spaces, simple logic can tell you that.

Simple logic would tell you to park elsewhere if a car park is full. Clearly simple logic isn't being applied.

I don’t care where they get it from irishjohn that’s not my problem its there’s for inadequate planning in the first place. Just as long as they don’t continue to use it as a money making scheme!

Also if they want it as a deterrent why are there not big signs all over the place saying about the fines? Could it be that they don’t want people to know so that people park an inch over a line and they get to scare people into giving them money?

I for one will be parking properly as I always do anyway but certainty wont be paying these clowns anything if the Gestapo come my way!

Sorry but that sounds a very selfish attitude - I wholly agree with you about it seeming like a devious money making scheme which I hope my other posts show. My preference would be to see it become Pay and Display for all customers and visitors with a £3 for a maximum of two hours parking. Shops could then decide if they wish to reimburse you for the payment

And Waltsalt and Irishjohn I know it may not sound like it but I actualy do agree with you that people shouldnt park badly.

What I dont agree with is the Gestapo's way of doing things, if they had big signs up making it obvoius then fine caught red handed and if they didnt hand them out for being here to long or slightly over a line then fine. But they dont!

How can it be a deterent if no one knows about it ? so kow can I agree to them doing it if no one knows about it ?
