no offence meant but its a fact you and others said it .
My next question could be why is everyone in the NHS not paid on trust but I think that would cause too much soul searching

Hi all just a question with regard too proof of hours worked whilst working for the NHS.
As a band 4 employee I have to fill in a monthly time sheet which I sign this is then checked by my line manager and co signed if all is well
My question is how are higher grades and doctors, consultants, psychiatrist ,psychologists ect held accountable ?
    thank you

I do not know but I would be surprised if you do not have access to an IT system in your organisation that will describe what employees are required to do to account for their time and other resource utilisation. Have you tried reading this?

You keep missing the point. The higher grades aren't entitled to overtime or time of in leiu, so the hours they are working don't need tracking to capture the excess hours worked.

Oh for Heaven's sake, how do YOU know that work hasn't been done or contracted hours haven't been worked??

Are you stalking your manager perchance?

Oh dear a clear chip on the shoulder... If you have an issue with a manager not doing their contractual hours just report them rather than eluding to some nhs conspiracy theory!

Isn't that the job of internal audit?

The leading case on the legal definition of dishonesty - R v Ghosh (1982) concerned a surgeon who falsely claimed for operations he hadn't carried out on the NHS. You see regular stories in the media of sundry GPs, opticians, dentists, consultants etc being prosecuted, so I presume that someone, somewhere, is keeping an eye on things.
Not necesseraly, I used to work for these in the IT forensics dept

If you suspect that a manager isn't working their hours then you could talk to their manager or counter fraud? It's not unheard of!
Just be careful though, as a manager I do a number of tasks off site; meetings, investigations, training, home visits etc etc, some involving travel and long days. So just because someone isn't present or visible, it doesn't necessarily mean that they're not working.
