Chances of finding my (future) Mrs on MSE?

Now I have to disagree with the above. If I have worked hard and saved via the tips on here plus the fact I am Scottish I don't want a man to be free and easy with money. I may be in the minority but if a bloke turned up with a voucher for a first date for a meal I would be impressed at his initiative.
But like a previous poster said us women we can be strange.0 -

My now-husband took me on a date to return some shoes he bought that broke at a party after another girl danced on his feet!?! At the time I was confused as most other dates I've had have been all champagne-and-roses, but it helped me relax around him, and I guess it worked!0 -

I tried that, and I was indeed 'approached' by various women during that period.....but turned them down because I had given up! True!
So is that where the useless bit comes in? :rotfl::rotfl:

There was a thread a while back about a couple that met on MSE and went on to get married.

Useless git, you don't happen to work in the building trade do you?
I met my OH when I stopped looking, I had been to speed dating, the hell that was internet dating (and the person that chose me had done time for attempted murder...... only found that one out after googling his name!), then introduced to a colleague of a friend of a friend......who hadn't told his workmates he was married  (that guy got a swift kick in the whatsits) so I gave up
............. 3 weeks later I met OH at a work's do, he asked me out (in front of all my work mates so I couldn't say no :rotfl:), 6 months later I proposed (feb 29th) and a few years later we got married.
............my advice, don't give up. ............But I'd define the 'useless' bit, if its cooking thats forgiveable, if its tidying up... you can learn and if its anything else the woman will decide for herself.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You see, where you're going wrong is mentioning the "useless" bit. Women, especially women who have already got rid of one useless git (aka ME !) wouldn't touch another useless git if he came giftwrapped in £50 notes and looked like George Clooney.
You have to play on your strengths, not play dumb, it won't work. You must be useful at some things ?
I've been on my own for 10 years now and have become very choosy. These are the things i would look for in a new bloke :
Someone who...isn't smelly, doesn't smoke, likes to eat out occasionally, likes a drink (but not 15 pints a night and 20 on Sunday lunch) likes to go shopping, isn't obsessed with sport on TV, enjoys cooking, isn't afraid to take time off work to have a holiday every year, (my ex was a workaholic, the money and the Aston Martin were fab but after a while, it got boring) has the imagination to buy gifts without prompting, doesn't drop clothes on the floor waiting for the washing fairy to come along, enjoys gardening, doesn't eat with his mouth open, is moderately intelligent (Guardian reader rather then The Sun !)
Now i know that the man i'm looking for doesn't exist but i live in hope ! In the meantime, it's just me and my kids, who love me unconditionally, as i love them0
