Many years ago I went to a Parents night for DS who was then about 14. His history teacher was one of the old school types, loud, monocled and an absolute riot, one of the best teachers I have ever come across.

As we sat at the table with him he looked at his paperwork and the conversation went like this...

Teacher: "He's doing very well, amazingly well actually all things considered. He's actually top of this class. Brilliant considering"

    us: "Considering what?"

    Teacher: "his special needs!"

us: "But DS doesn't have special needs"

    Teacher: "Really? Oh !!!!!!"

Turned out, somewhat comically that he'd confused DS with another boy who shared his surname and did have special needs. He had spent an entire term marvelling at his amazing progress! It was incredibly funny and we did have a laugh about it.

I had a chemistry teacher who, even after 4 years, couldn't tell the difference between me and another girl in the class... managed to write a report each term though honestly didn't know if I was Kate or Caroline!!

lol, it happens we are all human after all!

My English teacher was a batty old dear bought in as a replacement for our long term sick teacher. She was as mad as a box of frogs and not in a good way. She had one boy caned for cracking a floor tile that had been cracked since about 1962

For the 12 months she taught me she insisted I was Janet Green. I have no idea why to this day, we didn't even have a Janet Green in the school let alone my class! Yes, my initials were JG and my first name Jane but thats as close as it got.

Still makes me smile now and that was 20 years ago! :D

This reminds me of my 4th year school report (in 1967) when I read that I'd got top marks in 'Hygiene and Deportment' and what a lovely person I was etc.etc. That sounded really good, except I'd never been in her class at all. That class was held for those who were leaving school and getting prepared for the big world outdoors whilst I was choosing to stay on for my CSE's!

I approached the said teacher to tell her and she still hadn't a clue who I was.

At least is was a good remark and not bad! I never got it removed from my report though!;)

Anything you fancy. If nothing comes to mind, you can work with something of mine. :D
    I've got;

A 12yo who 'forgot' it was sports day so wouldn't have taken his PE kit if I hadn't bumped into his friend this morning crying because he also had forgotten.

I searched the house looking for the crumpled piece of paper that hubby said mentioned deadline days for ordering school uniform (Secondary school with a strict policy) and thought he'd put in the paperwork tray. Today he found it - it was sent by text message!!!

A neighbour who posts all about what we do on facebook, moaning about us, whilst thinking she's perfect despite 4 yapping terriers and dubious tastes in potted plants ...ahem.

I need to attend sports day (younger child) music concert, awards ceremony, parents afternoon and work out what eldest has put down for enrichment day cos he can't remember but he might need me to take him there and back, hair appt, chirpody appt, 2 last class courses to go to, avoid the temping agency in case they give me work I can't fit in this week but also speak to them about work from next week.

You rant away on my behalf. It'll be therapeutic for me. :D
