So what I've done is make a 1k overpayment so at least I'll have a couple of months not paying interest on it and it will bring my monthly payment down a bit. Then when I remortgage it'll get put back on. The difference will be negligible but better than nothing. Also gets me into the 210ns which is good psychologically. I rang a mate who's a mortgage advisor too just to check I can't get a better deal. I can't so feel a lot more positive today.Start Date 16/09/2015

Can't sleep - we had a Chinese takeaway last night and while they're always great at the time, they always seem to result in a bad night's sleep, they can't be good for you.
Just starting to think about the work we want to do on the house and we're starting with the end in mind, we've had an architect round and drawn up a couple of options, but it needs more work, neither of us are convinced with the plans as yet.

My £1k OP has knocked a massive £4 a month off my Mortgage
I hate having a big mortgage.
Have applied for a new deal on one of the parts of the mortgage, going from 2.85% to 1.94% which will save me £70 a month, which is pretty good. Still work to do to get us down to a monthly payment that is less of a struggle.Start Date 16/09/2015

Hey QBW, it can be so disheartening to make a big OP and not feel it has done much, I found paperwork which showed how much I was paying per pound borrowed, this has made me feel way better about any OP now no matter whether big or small! Glad you had a good hols, best of luck working out the budget for a balance!

Just paid the CC bill for the month - much too big again, really hoping for a less expensive month this time round.
Not in a position to make any OPs this month, maybe when my new mortgage deal starts next month.Start Date 16/09/2015

Bought Mrs QBWs Mother's day present - really wanted to buy it from a shop rather than on-line but couldn't get it as cheap as on Am@z0n (I'm a little anti them), so had to bite the bullet. Also treated myself to a couple of cheap 3D films, it's so rare I buy myself anything, so don't feel too guilty. Inadvertently signed up to their prime service, checked it out and they would have charged me after a month, £79 for the year - so I put a stop to that, but we have it for free for a month, so will watch a few free films and there's a series Mrs QBW wants to watch too.Start Date 16/09/2015

Re-mortgage application accepted, so 23 days and counting until it switches. Had a really good weekend, managed to spend some time in the garden and did a lot of family stuff.
Funny in my late teens and twenties I lived for the weekend, now I'm in my Forties I still do, but it's very different - just as much fun though.Start Date 16/09/2015
