£900 better off in January - that's brilliant :T. Hope the MOT wasn't too costly.

Had a good morning dismantling the old water tank cupboard in my daughters bedroom (we had a combi boiler fitted 14 months ago) will create a bit more space, but need to replace some floorboards, skirting board and get some plastering done - still at least we've made a start :)

The girls have gone out, so my son and I are relaxing - watching Dumbo!!! :j

I was thinking about switching my current account currently with Santander, not sure whether to move to their 123 account or go to Halifax, any advice?

I'm with Halifax ATM and happy with them so far. The online banking is better than Santander's, I think, although it bugs me that you can't set up a transfer between your own accounts ahead of time. (Or maybe you can, but I haven't discovered how. If anyone knows, please tell me!)

At last, been paid - a day early too, so can OP £200, so that's 300 in total for Jan.

Not sure how I've managed it, but I'm £900 better off than I was this time last month. :j

Just done my tax return and paid the tax - guess what over £900, so that money is gone.

    Mrs QBWs bill was worse!!

Feel a little bit sick, just as we were getting ourselves on our feet financially

Oh no! Hope you can start getting back on your feet again. It's always the same - just as you build up some money something happens where you need to use it. Things don't happen in 3's in our house . . . it usually happens in 5's :rotfl:.

Thanks SD - puts us back a couple of months, but on the positive side, our more sensible approach to money over the last few months meant we could cope with the blow a little better!!!

I must say I like to have little celebrations based around.

    OP Milestones
    LTV Milestones
    Outstanding Balance Milestones
    Daily Interest Milestones

The next big one is going below £20 DI

As predicted daily interest gone below £20 to a whopping £19.99 :rotfl:

Wonder how long it will be berfore we get below £19?

That's the good news, bad news is we've decided we can't live with one car, so we need to get a new run around and going to upgrade the family car at the same time - so that'll put a big dent in the savings :(

Well done on that daily interest milestone. :T

The more milestones the better, IMO. What do you think will be your next one?

I agree. I'm going to do a list on my diary I think :)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
