So sorry Fuddle, do as Kidcat says and that will get you till after Christmas. When you talk to Shelter make sure you mention all about the damp and how he has said he will withhold the deposit. Take pictures now, of that and the toilet. Write down all the problems there have been, just in case.

Had a quiet day at home relaxing today just for a change,it was quite nice really and the Greek tv showed lots of English and American programmes. I did a quick clean up then washed both the scooters, then sat on the computer after lunch. I love the site polyvore.com you can go on and create sets of clothes from fashion sites, its fascinating and very addictive.

According to the weather forecast we are dropping down to 10 degrees in the daytime next week, from the 28 it is here at the moment. So making the most of the good weather. Glad my winter clothes are washed and ready to wear.

Had to take my washing machine filter to bits tonight as the washer would not empty after I washed the goatskin rug in it. I washed it before and never had a problem .The filter was clear so I have now put in another small load to test the washer on another programme. If that fails my OH is going to spend Sunday taking it to bits...he just doesn't know it yet.......

We have two dehumidifiers going all the year round as its very humid here. They don't cost a lot in electric and prevent mold and damp spores. They are worth the investment and do save on heating costs as well.

Made pork with home made fried rice for dinner tonight and it was lovely. I now have four double portions of fried rice in the freezer for quick meals when we need something quick and easy to prepare. Might just do some lamb chops with mint sauce tomorrow. Off to make a sugar free jelly and check on the washer to make sure its still working okay.

Fuddle - we have been there a few years ago when the LL of house we had been in for ten years sent us the notice. I was so upset and couldnt think, this thread really saved my sanity at that point. It was unthinkable, but then we did think and planned, and now three years on we have our own place. Sometimes we need the kick to help us into action, I know we certainly did, I would never have contemplated moving (even though we had real problems there, crime, noise, people on lawn, it was awful really). I didnt think we could get anything else, I couldnt begin to give up my security, but when forced to we did it.

The bankruptcy was a while ago now and you have paid your rent in good order, I think you may be surprised what agents will do for you - we had money issues in the past but when it came to looking about agents asked us for proof of rent paid and that was all good.

Our council also offer a scheme to help people who are forced to move (correct paperwork) and need to rent privately, they will pay deposit and the months rent upfront if required. You have to pay the rent back but the deposit you only return when it is returned to you, and if you move to another private let they will often roll it over for you.

Sorry to hear that fuddle. I am sure there must be many people you can complain to as he has put you in this position. As the others say, ask Shelter for help as soon as you can and get the evidence down in writing. You could take photos of the clothes, damp and the toilet etc.

Try not to worry as it will stop you thinking clearly about your new plans. It has brought things to a head suddenly but it may bring something much better your way. Hugsxxx

Thank you so much. Our rent is due on the 5th of the month so even if we get the section 21 we don't need to be out before Christmas. I just hope his ignorance is his downfall in this and I can get us somewhere before we're pushed.

I do want to leave here. It will be a blessing, I know it will. I'm just a little bit scared. I'll come up with a plan tomorrow. x

Fuddle would it be worth letting the people who have you on the waiting list know? Maybe if you can plead the BR as making it really hard for you to find alternative accomodation it might bump you up their list?

Ok so assuming he doesnt find out about the S21 and serve it to you before Nov 5th the earliest he could serve you would be Dec 5th, that would give you until Feb 5th which is not a bad amount of time. His ignorance may also work in your favour if you find somewhere sooner you could use his dates quoted to get out :)
