Average Private rents around here seem to be around £110 per week but some of those advertised in the free sheet that Andrea mentioned may be less as some have not put the amount of rent required."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Happy to hear from GQ that the system is the same in England - Definitely go through the council Fuddle, as others have said with kiddies they have a legal responsibility to house you and it will increase your points for housing greatly. Also don't move out - make the LL put you out as, as GQ says, if you're considered intentionally homeless it alters your situation drastically. If you do need private rentals then you can arrange this through the homeless service - remember you can apply for a crisis loan to cover rent in advance.

(((big Hugs))) fuddle.
One thing I learned when we knew we were loosing our home was, do not allow anyone or anything to panic you into doing anything. Take a deep breath and get advice like everyone on here says.0 -
Fuddle, I'm so sorry, I didn't refresh before posting my last post so didn't see what had happened to you. I do hope you're not feeling too churned up about it now that you have had so much good advice. This could all turn out for the best - I do hope so. It's just bad luck that it happened on a Saturday and you can't get on the phone to the people you need to talk to but try to be calm tomorrow.
Is it half term for you this week? Hope you have a clear week to go talk to who you need to seeIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
Fuddle , cannot help with finding you a new place or with landlord sorry, have been in temp accommodation though when we came back here, not the best but liveable till we were offered a permanent house and if this turns out to give you a home with council or HA then that will be to the good, just awful you have to go through such heartache and upset.
I just wish I could do more, if you lived near me you could have come to stay then been rehoused easily as we would be over crowded but I doubt you would want to live here, not a place anyone would if they had a choice.
Have you also told the housing you have depression and so got some medical points, the dampness should also help - take videos, photos and lots of notes of every spot of damp on walls and clothes -I would measure the damp patches to give the sizes ( tiny spots people can ignore but not big ones - hold rulers next to them).
Others wiser than me have told you what is best to be done on Monday so all I will say is remember I am here if there is anything at all you think I can help you with.
Love and hugs to you xxxxxxNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

I agree with GQ approach the council, you may end up in one of their houses. I know its hell for you but this may work out best in the end and you will get a good house which you deserve and you can settle in. Your LL is an !!! of the highest degree :mad:Clearing the junk to travel light

Just a word of warning to anyone re overcrowding, I have a 3 bed house, we had DD, SIL & DGS in one room, DS & his GF in another, me & hubby in another & DSS in the lounge & we weren't deemed to be overcrowded.
