Go to the docs ginny and get it checked - your family needs you in good working order ! xxx0
-
Sheila - ((hugs)) its been a rotten year for you all around, hope you and Rosie can enjoy your time together now.
Ginny - definitely get checked, as a carer you should be given priority to be seen, hope your OH and DGS are both ok now.
Pops - we had the thunder and icy rain too brrrrr
MrsC - how frustrating for you, your insurance should cover it for you and then you may be able to get a courtesy car to tide you over. My dads church is in an area which had four lots of flooding over twelve months (faulty pipes) and any car flooded was written off as being not repairable as the companies considered that they could never be fully guaranteed to be fully reliable - so be very careful
Have been really busy today, but my throat and chest are really painful, swallowing honey and lemon when possible and paracetamol too.
Had parents evening for DS8 and am really pleased with how things are going for him.
Got even busier day tomorrow and Friday looking worse too - was really looking forward to next week being half term and having a sleep in and generally relaxing, but my mum has announced that as their bathroom being ripped out she is planning on spending all day here every day and worse she plans on arriving when the workmen arrive at 7.30am each day!!0 -
It is absolutely foul here, cold, grim and pouring with rain. Hubby was working from home today, DD was here as well (school holidays) and I thought Sod It and put the heating on in the afternoon. If it's just me at home I'll layer up and stay in the study where the combination of good insullation and the faint warm currents from the PCs keep the room at an acceptable temperature during the day but for three of us it's not worth being cold. The cats were ecstatic and plastered themselves over the warm bits of the floor under the radiators.
I'm chicken sitting for my neighbour atm as well, she's off to Legoland with her kids. I know the routine but for some reason the chooks weren't keeping to the schedule tonight and weren't prepared to be shooed into the nest box by some amateur either. So I had to go round twice...and forgot the torch second time round so I had to check there were three black chickens in the gloomy nest box by prodding the first two out the way. So I'm even less popular now. I bet I won't get a single egg tomorrow!
I am sick of the rain already and it's only October. DS is in Washington DC atm, it's 25'C there. Grrrr.....Val.0 -
Who was it who knew about wild mushrooms? My friends dog has eaten some from her garden and she is panicking that they may be poisonous0
-
KIDKAT - Straight to the vet, and take a sample of the fungi with you so the vet can see what it is. There are different treatments for different poisons. It might be harmless, but should be checked out straight away. Cheers Lyn x.0

From this it looks like normal SM mushroom to me - but you are right better safe than sorry. Thanks Mrs LW0 -
This weather...I've put the thermals on and socks and I am still cold and though I should not spend I am going out for a look around the SM just for something to do...
Putting what is left of the meal from yesterday on in the SC. Then am tidying the lounge, kitchen and dining room to keep myself busy. Then hoovering tomorrow...
I think I am doing ok but may see my Dr on Friday just to see if he thinks I need any AD's but it does no harm to have it logged and on my medical records for future references."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
"Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won't come in" ~ Alan Alda0 -
Sounds like you're looking to fill a hole pops. Spending won't make you any happier... a very, very sure sign of a tad depression. You would be better off thinking about any old programmes you like to watch and spend the evening browsing for a real best buy of the box sets... our favourites come out time and time again, auf weidersehn pet, only fools and horses and open all hours. Then you would have occupied yourself, stayed warm, bought something but something that will fill that hole if it opens up again.
Speaking of the AD's. I was talking to a mum tonight about depression and we were nodding and sharing notes on it. I told her I had started a new job and she was mystified. She thought you shouldn't work while on AD's and I should consider quitting for the good of my health. My job makes me happy! Do depressed people not work generally?0 -

Its cold here to and im now infront of the fire, best place......
If your so cold with all your thermals on why are you going out?, you could put the heating on for an hour or 2 and be nice and warm, instead of going out and spending, I dont see the point in that espeically when its so dark and bleak outside.....Yes its up to you, but its not very OS if you are so short of dosh and worrying about the future........sheila0 -
MrsLurcherwalker wrote: »FUDDLE - Yorkie pud is also lovely with grated cheese/cheese and onion on top too!!! For a variation on toad in the hole you can use sausage meat rolled into balls instead of sausages or a mixture of sausage meat and sage and onion stuffing works well and stretches the sausage meat even further, nice with onion gravy! Cheers Lyn x.
