Went to vets to find Rosie as had a stroke.......She said it maybe a brain tumour secondary to the breast cancer....
Ive googled and found that strokes in dogs are not common and in dogs it affects the spinal cord, not good, having had 2 injections and I did take a urine smple that just said her PH was high..........
£75.17p later , she is home and resting, the vet said she could also give her some tabs for life........ But I said to her as long as shes not suffering ,I wont be pumping her full of meds, because at 15 years old, she wont turn round and be a puppy again , my opinion is , she as breast cancer, half blind, and also half deaf, you have to stop somewhere dont you.?.........
As long as she dont get any worse then I will let her live a quiet life , she hated going to the vets and it stresses her out badly , always have..................
Dam year this has been for me , plus for a lot of you one way or other , we all seem to have some sort of problems, yet we all get through them........
I wanted to go and watch the red deer in their anual rut, well I didnt make it the other night cos I was waiting for the hospital to phone me to say what meds for hubby that night, and they always phone in between 5.30 pm and 8 pm, well im going at tea time whatever today, the bloody roof can fall in, but im going, I need to walk them fields just for "me time"...............He is respite from today, so out come the wellies and my binoculars....................:jcatch you all later...sheila0 -
SHEILA - thanks for letting us know about Rosie, we had an old border terrier, Badger who was nearly 17 and also deaf and blind ,whose health was not the best in his last 6 months, you'll know when it's time Rosie will show you. In the meantime enjoy every second of every day you are together and love her as much as you can. Enjoy your deerwatch this evening and then sleep well in the knowledge that all is being looked after for you, take your time and enjoy your week. Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Sending my thoughts and wishes to so many of you who seem to be having a difficult time either due worries of a loved one who is ill(that includes our dear pets/companions)those who are ill and have worries themselves(health or financially)
It seems to have been a particularly bad year so far for so many and doesn't seem so good for the future:(Most of what is going wrong we don't seem to have much control over. I guess all we can do is plod on and try manage whatever comes our way...
As I write(and Fuddle, Meme 30 and others are experiencing it too)It is very cold(even with my extra clothes on)we have had a really heavy downpour of icy rain and now we have thunder..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Glad to hear that some of you are now on the mend. I do look forward to reading your updates and helpful hints. For the first time in five days we didn't get storms today, but did get hot sunshine. It was up to 28 degrees this afternoon so I managed to get the washing done and its now on the line drying.
How do men manage to put all their clothes in the washing AFTER you have just emptied the wash basket? Even if I ask him, he can manage to spill something all over the clothes he has on....
Went to the gym this morning and enjoyed myself for an hour. Called at the ex catalogue shop (they sell clothes by weight..29 euros a kilo). I noticed some nice winter weight tights and a lovely grey triangle scarf with fringing and both weighed in at just 2.60 euros...and she gave me them for 2.50 which I was very pleased with. I am only buying things that I need as we are saving up to pay all the austerity taxes they keep foisting onto us.
Home for lunch and I used the new big casserole pan I bought at the car boot sale ..I was worried in case things would stick on as its enamel but it was perfect for the corned beef hash I made. I had lots of veggies to use up in the bottom of the fridge so we have enough for tomorrow as well.
For dinner tonight I cooked fresh chicken wings and thighs that I get from my local butcher at 2 euros a kilo. It's the nicest chicken I have ever tasted. I roasted some sweet potato wedges with them at the same time in my little worktop size oven and we had a nice green salad with them. Still have enough left over for another meal so I may put it in the freezer for another time.
Last night I watched the English series ''Call the midwife'' on Greek tv and I loved every minute of it. On Monday they started showing Downton Abbey and sometime this week is Upstairs Downstairs. It's rare for me to watch any tv, I am usually reading or working on the computer. So I am really enjoying the treat of watching one each night.
That Pinterest is addictive. My favourite section is the Style/fashion pages, they run contests where you put together collections on a theme from a store. It's very creative and a bit like getting a dream wardrobe for nothing..its a lot cheaper than window shopping as I can't be tempted to buy. Some of the items of clothing cost over 3,000 pounds each (for a dress for instance)...I wouldn't pay that much even if I won the lottery!!!“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. So sorry to hear about Rosie, Sheila.
Thank you for letting us know what had happened.
Guess what this dimwit did? Went to work without switching on the slowcooker! Can you believe I did that? It's cooking in the oven but still, a bit narked as it was kind of an experiment.
I had a lovely afternoon, a nice cheese and tomato sandwich and a cuppa. She's shown me a new knitting stitch, raspberry I think it was. I haven't got a clue still.
My friend in Australa contacted me on facebook today, that made me happy actually. It's awful when you feel a bit snubbed.0 -

Sorry about your Rosie, Sheila, I agree at her not having meds. My little cairn cross had steroids and didnt understand what was going on, they were marginally worse than the illness and he used to shake when they wore off, kindest thing in the long run for him was an early sleep and I miss him still today. Hope she is comfortable and we know she is on good hands with you xx
OH had a bad day, bit of a meltdown when DGs trapped his hand in the car, only seconds but enough to knock OH for 6. Im really struggling at the mo, seem to have a trapped nerve or something in my thigh, thought it was arthritis but doesnt seem to be. Am taking it easy for a few more days and alternating between resting and moving about - so much pain  Oh well hoping for something good on tv whilst I knit the evening away.
