I now have 2 princess Leia dresses half made
must get to bed and decide whether to make hoods and arms tomorrow or buy a couple of white hoodies to go underneath.
They will look great, Lisa! and well done you for making the effort - can't believe other parents are saying they can't do it as they need to get halloween costumes! Get something that will do for both... DS2 has had the same outfit for 3 years now - too long when he first had it & this will be the last year I think, before it goes over to my sister's children.
If you can get them, I think I'd go for the hoodies as they'll be multi-function and warmer?lillibet_dripping wrote: »Deer Docky, Alfie an uver doggies.

You all would be proud of me today. Thermal vest on, socks, big coat on, hat, scarf and gloves. I hunted out my summer buy boots and was toasty... till I walked out in the rain and the new boots seeped straight in. I'm gutted I am. I'm really rueing the 'buy cheap buy twice' saying right now. I have wellies, all is not lost.
Possession going to try that bacon and potato slow cooker meal today. I'll let you know how it gets on. Also making that oat baked fruit thing for breakfast.
After work I'm calling round my 60+ friend in the village. She has a woodburnerand is making me lunch. We get on well. It should be me helping her out but as she has a car, she helps me out!
Off I go do all my jobs before work and set the SC away. We're all back to it today. My chest is more of a constant indigestion feeling today. I suppose that's progress. I don't think I have bronchitis though.
Take care everyone and I hope today is brighter where you all are. It's very dark here this morning x
I'm sure Docky is german:rotfl:
Fuddle, I got some boots from cotton traders when they were half price - welly feet and furry lining, they seem good so far!0 -
Cotton Traders have some of the boots at half price again currently. Posted it on Winter thread the other day0

Just to say all quiet here today, well no one has fallen off a ladder or rammed a building yet today!
The camp site should wind down now until Easter which means lots of time and no money. But we plan ahead to cover bills so just have to be careful for the next 5 months.
Lots of work to be done outside, I'm thinking of adding another hard standing as the weather was so poor early this season and lots and lots of cutting back.
Need to do some work on the shower block as well and can only do that when we are empty.
The wildlife loves it though.
No sooner have the campers gone out the gate than we start to resemble Watership Down and with my Lurcher being a Greyhound Collie cross she chases the rabbits and then rounds them up!
Such fun.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z Able Archer0 -
Hello sorry to all who are ill / have ill friends and relatives. Hugs and wishes of wellness to you all.
So in the space of 12 hours the boiler and the downstairs loo have sprung a leak. Based on the "it comes in threes" rule of Murphy I promptly turned on the washing machine before I left the house with DH still in house and ran to work. I am working on the theory that
A) any problems he will find and stop the leak somehowhe may fix it
C) I really don't need wet feet and to be late to work
D) if we have to call a plumber out best get all the appliances that may break tested and do the whole lot at once under one call out fee.
Now what other things use water and may leak, shot was used today, upstairs loo and basin ....... Cant think of anything else can you?
*huffs of grumbling about Murphy's law and stupid not very old things that break* grumbleStart info Dec11

Afternoon Toughies, very wet night last night, more than half an inch of rain fell in no time at all so everywhere is waterlogged.
PAH - Nice to have you with us again, glad they have found a reason for your poor DD's problems, better when they can actually sort out the meds and get her back to health again. Your poor son in Australia as well, lets hope all is sorted out for him very quickly and again he's back to health soon. Hope you are settled in your new living arrangements at home and finding life less of a trial. Love the picture of the pups, they are beautiful, so cuddly.
SHEILA - Hope the visit to the vetty persons place with Rosie had a happy outcome and that you are both back home and warm again.
FUDDLE - Hope your return to work hasn't left you worn out and you are having a lovely lunch with your village friend.
He who knows very pleased with himself today as he has successfully bid for and won a large section of weeper hose on Freecycle ( with little holes in at regular intervals to water plants along the length of the polytunnel) and is off to collect it this afternoon. It's bright and dry here at the moment so Docky and I will be off for a nice walk in the not too distant future and enjoy the afternoon sunshine. Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
Mrs LW - hope your walkies isn't as muddy as ours this morning. Think strawberry blonde longish curly haired (but thick moppy, not silky) playing with her friends in a swamp. Then think dark brown dripping hound covered in sludge from her tippy paws even over her ears. (And she hates being washed/dried/cleaned - sulks for england).
Hope Sheila doggy OK.0 -
JAMANDA - Is what they do best and when it comes to MUDDDDDDD - well it's nice to share!!!!! Cheers Us xxx.0

I must stop looking at the food on Pinterest.
Still feel poorly with upset tum.
PAH, your pics are gorgeous, the dogs look so lovely. Glad your DD knows the reason behind the bleeding, just hope they can sort out her meds now. My DD has epilepsy and I know how worrying it can be if meds are stopped.
Shegar, hope your pooch will be alright. Mine is 12 and everytime she is poorly I panic, and worry it's a secondary cancer. At the moment she's on steroids which seem to be causing her to pant constantly. Been to the vets twice in less than a week! :eek:C.R.A.P. R.O.O.L.Z. Member. 21 Norn Iron deputy h

Afternoon All!
Hope wee doggie is ok Sheila.
Glad at least DD knows what the prob is PAH
Well, what a day - we had a exceptionally high tide this morning and stupid us left it too late to move the cars and the van - out at 8.30 this morning to find all three with water up to wheel arches and rising  . The water was coming along the path from the harbour car park and up through the drains on the little road from the harbour as well. All the residents out keeping a very close eye as it does not take much for their (and our) houses to flood.
Once water went down the van was fine, the KA had 2 inches of water inside but started ok. The Octavia was kaput, 4 inches of water inside and we think the electrics are in the footwell so under water. Long story short, it's off to main dealers in big town, no doubt money will change hands:mad:. To say we are feeling stupid is something of an understatement, we should have realised that the tide would overtop after all the rain we have had.
And paddling at 8.30 am on a chilly October morning is no fun! Oh put his short fur-lined boots on then wondered why they were full of water??? I found crocks were perfect for the job. So now have to try to dry the boots of on the woodburner, but I bet they end up stinky. And god knows what the cars will be like, the water had seeped up into the seats, everything sodden:(.
Fortified by crumpets and tea now, but feeling a bit coldy, so hope I am not getting anything as we are working Saturday.
Hope everyone's day had been less eventful than ours!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Rotten luck MRS CHIP hope they can repair the car quickly for you and that it doesn't cost too much. Oh the woes of the workaday life eh? Bless, Cheers Lyn xxx.0
