PAH....hugs to you and your daughter.
Hugs to anyone else not feeling well. Really support the honey and lemon in hot water for colds.
Will have to brave the hassle of putting on tights under trousers as am still barefoot and am really feeling the cold to-day.
Well remember the 60s and going to local hall to 'hop' in wellington boots to get me through the snow and my high heels tucked under my arm....youth must have its fling I suppose and pay for it later.
Sleep well all

I'm glad you enjoyed it - but, goodness, Snow White annoys me. All that running round after men, waiting for her Prince. She needs some girl power.

It is very much of the time it was made and a couple of things would be un PC these days but it is a wonderful piece of animation.
And I saw some Disney shorts from approx ten years before that was made, clever but how quickly the quality improved. I'm amazed that I have gone back...must be some kind of wanting the memories of times when things felt safe. I may be a bloke but I can still be moved by emotional things. The same with music.
We all know that there is the scene in Bambi that gets most. I'd actually watched a Japanese animated film before finding the Disney stuff...they do some wonderful cartoons in Japan..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

For those trousers Annie123, I'd suggest Primark, Peacocks and even Tesco's but it may have to be men's but they can be used for men or women. I saw a brushed cotton Onesie for men in Tesco's tonight(£14) But for women some lovely 100% Cashmere jumpers in just about every colour possible...the bad news...they are £40!"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Grey Queen - I totally agree with you about old sayings. I sometimes hear my Grandma or Nanna when I come out with things like, 'You'll catch your death.'
I was in Hobbycraft this morning, and got talking to 2 ladies looking at wool, as you do..., and one said that she was looking for something to do because when it gets dark in the middle of the afternoon she feels that she shouldn't waste the time. My sentiments exactly! I told them about all the free patterns you can get online, but I might have well being talking another language because they don't have the internet! I did suggest going to their library and asking someone to help them etc., but I suspect they probably won't, and will continue to pay a small fortune for them. It's a shame when folks don't have anyone to help with stuff like that, isn't it?2025 Fashion on the ration

Dh and I have taken part in some major research into vit D, it involved 6 monthly blood tests and varying D intake up or down to reach the optimum level for each of us. Four years on we each take quite a high dose via cholicalciferol capsules from the states. It has taken far too long for higher dose caps to be available in the uk and even now it would mean taking multiple caps to reach the optimum levels. Let`s just say that I feel well and lively, most of the time and don`t get winter SAD.
Also a whisper, for anyone interested, to research NAC or N Acetyl L Cysteine. NAC is making a huge difference to dh and appears to be very protective of his lungs. I am also taking it from the start of the autumn season and through winter. Important to take it with a 500 mg vit c tab. Let`s just say that I am not hanging around as dh was `diagnosed` copd at a low level. I won`t say any more about it except that he continues to go on 70 mile cycle rides, which takes him about 4-5 hours. http://www.peacehealth.org/xhtml/content/cam/hn-2888006.html
You just have to be ahead of the curve wrt modern research and public knowledge. Also make sure to eat an apple a day. More later

Grrrr have woken with eyes that sting, my throat is hard to swallow and my chest feels tight and I feel generally urrgh. Of course it would be today, have important meeting at DS8 school, followed by hospital appointment for DD18 and my Xray. Then have two more meetings tonight after school so hardly time to feel ill.
Rest of week is similarly bad too
Hoping to pop into Costco after hospital to buy the vits definitely.0 -
Mrscd my parents are not internet savvy being in their late 70's they don't see the need to learn but I've finally 'trained' them to shop online via me
I kept showing them how much money they were wasting with things they insisted on getting from stores and paying to have delivered and now my dad always asks me to pricecheck stuff first.
We often say how awful it must be for people without anyone to do that for them as they must have to pay through the nose for eveythingand its usually those who can least afford to do it too
Kittie many thanks will look into the NAC I already take the others but always need all the help I can get lungswise in the winter!0 -
Just found a rather interesting Amazon review on Vit D3 which explains stuff I hadn't quite got (apologies if everyone else had!).
What I find slightly concerning is that when tested via BUPA - I was seeing a rheumatologist as well as the surgeon - my level was 9, which I now understand is really bad. I was given tablets via the rheumatologist but no NHS doctor has ever followed up on this, and if this review is to be believed, it explains why.

Kidcat I don't know how you're going to do that feeling ill
Myself and the girls are considerably worse today. I feel sore all over, my head is pounding and chest still hurts when breathing in. I was on ibproferen yesterday but today I'm heading back on the paracetamols.
I will look at the vit D link, thanks possession. What would you all suggest is a decent dose? My mutivits have 5.0ug of vit D. I suspect that is no where near enough although it says it's 100% RDA.
My nephew was born last night. He's lovely! I'm an aunty again. Really happy although quite gutted I can't go visit with being so poorly.0
