Morning - had to retire hurt last night as I had the mother of all headaches. Still do this morning - I think it is sinus related. Have attacked with parrots eat em all and brufen and will use my spray to see if that doesn't do for the blighter.

Painters are due in a mo to finish the woodwork and then we are done. Ordered the new carpet last night. Hopefully that'll be the hall, stairs and landing for 10 years or more (or in fact the new owners of this house as we would like to be out before then). It was decadent to have people in to do it but we knew it would be a 'mare with plaster coming off the walls and, being the hall stairs and landing, it affects every room of the house. it would have taken us 6 months (query - who am i justifying this too? :D).

Still reeling from the 36p baby bath (tho still a lot cheaper than soap). Maybe that's why I got the headache?

Hmm Sausages for tea? or beef in the slow cooker? or left over roast dinners? Decisions, decisions.

Question for you bloggers - I am determined to get a blog up and running. I have started it (no link yet as it isn't fit to be seen), but I wanted a page for recipes. I have created the page but don't seem to know how to populate it? New posts just go on first page. i am a computing numpty.

I'd better get dressed or the decorators will be greeted with the site of me in me jimmys.

  • VJsMUM - I find the smell of paint always gives me a headache, might that be a factor with yours? I know it's cooler now but opening windows to dissipate the smell might help, Cheers Lyn xxx P.S Hope you feel better quickly L x.

    Mar no sweeties? :eek::eek::eek:
I don't know if they have any nasties but M&S do tins of very nice sugar-free sweeties.
Born Blonde those slugs sound a bit Hitchcock-esque. Could it be drains? Might be worth putting salt around them outside just in case.

Have a read of this, really inspiring man who has cerebral palsy.

My BIL's niece has cerebral palsy, I wonder if she would be able to communicate like this?

I pinched the RVs diabetic sugar free sweeties for times of dire emergency Possession, they've got aspartame in and I think that's bad but I don't know. I just felt so bad that I thought to go right back to basics of good eating, then I read about a condition where some people are the opposite of diabetic and that sugar causes their BG to drop instead of peak. The symptoms fitted how I felt, including a craving for sugar lol.. so I thought try and eliminate it and see how it goes. I don't feel miraculously better though, just a bit, so it might have been a virus I had anyway. None of the blood tests show anything wrong at all, but the chest Xray shows signs of COPD - although I have never smoked. Then I went for breathing tests and scored 120% so I'm lost lol. The hosp can sort it out!

HI, yes it did occur to me. Except the headache started at work - however it might be the paint affecting my sinuses. THanks

DD has just rung to say "can I take her homework in as she's forgotten it". Except school is 8 miles away  Luckily cos of my headache, instead of me running her to school this morning OH did it and left the car there, catching the train to work (very complicated - LOL). So I was always going to have to go by train to fetch car as OH couldn't pick it up. I'll let her sweat for another hour though as I have coffee to drink.

I think the walk to the station will be good for me and I am marking dissertations so I will take one with me to read on the train.

BTW - for those desperate to know (LOL) we are having sausages for tea. DD can have a cheese and onion pasty I bought from Aldi for her lunch - she won't take it as it makes her breath smell.

oh katieowl I am the same I say the wrong word a lot of times every day. I tried to laugh it off but it is worse now. I have fibromyalgia and with it the brainfog. I say a word and it comes out another word but beginning with the same letter. My gp has referred me to a memory clinic but waiting on the appointment.
:D I have ME-fog and one of the features is that what you say is the opposite of what you mean (just individual words) such as hot when you mean cold, left when you mean right, up when you mean down.

I also transpose numbers which means when the ME is biting down particularly hard in the last 2 hours of my part-time workday, I have to be very very careful and double-check everything. I'd never trust myself to work in a bank!

Sorry, didn't mean to be a downer about unions, definitely would be a different woman now.:p Power to the people! :T

Can anyone answer my question about terracotta and mould? I think you're skimming my posts, :rotfl:, you see my posts and think oh gawd, it's her! :D:p
:p Didn't answer because I'd never heard of this one, but I've read the Mumsnet linkie and now I know (and won't be purchasing any terracotta any time soon). I did have an unglazed terracotta mug which made tea taste weird so I c.s.'d it. Life's too short for weird tea. Or high-maintenance crockery.
Where is Grey Queen when you need her!

I've got a slug invasion in my shower room of all places.

Fully tiled, no outside access and yet slugs every day.

I have got no idea where they are coming from unless it's up the plug.

But I know where they go......
    I'm here!!!!

I have no clue where the boogers could be coming from, unless you can see a slime trail? Sounds like a horror movie. I detest them soooo much I wouldn't be responsible for my actions if I found them indoors (shudders).

D'you send them on the aquaslide, btw?:rotfl:

Been MIA for about 24 hours as pesky real life got in the way. And I didn't even put the pooter on yesterday after work as was engrossed in a trashy novel (needed some time off from RL by that point).

Gawd knows what anyone persusing my reading lists would thing; stuff of bushcraft, philosophy, steampunk, gardening, ecology, thrifty living and urban fantasy.........probably shake their heads in despair. Or :rotfl:

Today I shall go to work and come home again. Quelle thrill. Have a good 'un, peeps.

Why dosn't she take a travel toothbrush and toothpaste to school if she's worried about her breath smelling? Then she could eat anything she liked for lunch. Except garlic, maybe.
