Trouble with varnish is that it could taint food,

I think whoopsies may be getting done earlier now, previously it was 6pm ish but I was in today at 3.30 and there were some then. I think stores have realised that if they reduce earlier they can get away with less of a reduction.

What d'ya mean you can't help with my question?! How are we gonna cope with the Z's (won't say the full word in case I get banned) if we don't know how to deal with terracotta and mould? :p;)

    edit, yayyyy, :T I G00gled and found this, http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/good_housekeeping/509632-mouldy-terracotta-dishes/AllOnOnePage

    I don't feel so bad now. :D
:rotfl:on the subject of the Z s i dont think you would be worrying about mould on your pots i would start counting your tins of r.pudding:D

Haven't read back yet but wanted to add this for Ginny before I forgot re Direct Payments
We have these for the boys but to save me all the paperwork SS put me in touch with SCILL who manage mine for me all I do is sign the timesheets :D Doesn't cost me a penny it comes out of the DP pot DS2 and 3 are assigned.
Currently I have 7 hrs per week,11 in school hols and a block of 20 hours as needed for when DS2 goes in for ops.
I am extremely fortunate but currently can't find anyone to replace our boy who left after 6 years :( he was so good its hard finding someone else who just fits..

I have just caught up with all your posts...are you speed writers? LOL

Had the cough virus for a couple of days but now feel fine again. OH got it really bad and now has a chest infection, its taking him some time to get over it and he may need different antibiotics.

Went to Lidl to pick up some more fruit as we have eaten so much of it since we have been feeling iffy...cold fruit and yogurt is very soothing to a throat sore from coughing...particularly with extra honey poured on ha ha . I noticed that Lidl have changed their schedule for offers, they still have the tools/clothes on offer twice a week but now they do discounted food from Monday to Thursday. I usually shop on Friday and realised I had been missing out on the special food offers.

So today I got a kg of long grain rice for one euro and some tins of mackerel for one euro each (its usually expensive here). I also got some mozarella cheese and some gluten free ham at 30 percent off in the short sell by date section. I am now going to change my shopping day to Mondays as I can then stock up on the offers and the shops will be quieter than they are on Fridays.

Used up the left over new potatoes from yesterday by frying them with some mushrooms and they were lovely. Had four lamb chops left from dinner last night (out of a 6.99 euro pack....and I got a free pack as well for the freezer). Used up the last of the home made gluten free sponge by pouring on some honey and making my own custard to go with it. OH relished every spoon full so will definitely make it again.

Still hot here but looks like we are going to get some storms very soon. Will have to unplug everything tonight as the lightning wrecks electrical gear left plugged in.

How "bad" was applying D&DD I am constantly being told I should do it but the idea of having SS come in fills me with dread - I know its irrational. :)

Craig - are we counting the tins of rice pudding to throw at the Zs (in which case does tinned custard count) or is rice pudding the garlic equivalent to Zs:rotfl:

Behave you lot :p Love all your posts. You keep me sane ;)

I couldn't answer your question Byatt but I wondered if you could clear varnish your pots to keep the damp out? Clear varnish works on my oak didning table to keep the kiddy spills out... same thing?

Yes I agree with Byatt, pics :D

How dare you fuddle!! Me.......keeping someone sane? I've never been so insulted in my life ;)

I don't have enough tins of rice pudding to ward off Zs, but I do have about 8 kgs of rice in the cupboard under the stairs so can make enough of it to scare off more than a few. Anyway DS2 has about 20 Z plans so I should be ok as long as he doesn't decide to use me for bait.
