How "bad" was applying D&DD I am constantly being told I should do it but the idea of having SS come in fills me with dread - I know its irrational. :)

Craig - are we counting the tins of rice pudding to throw at the Zs (in which case does tinned custard count) or is rice pudding the garlic equivalent to Zs:rotfl:

Kidcat it was actually my estate manager who convinced me to get help..we were talking one day (her disabled son sadly passed away) and she asked what respite I had and at the time it was none,I'd never been offered help and didn't ever ask but it had got to the point where even I knew I needed a bit of help but was like you didn't want SS traipsing round..She convinced me I wasn't a failure to ask for help and gave me the number for SS and when they heard what the situation was they actually sent out an emergency SW the next day we had a care assessment and within 2 weeks it went to panel (bit like a statement) and within a week of them agreeing SCILL contacted me and arranged a home visit.

They did all the advert for carers and helped with interviews and as I say now administer the payroll.

*sorry for quick answer DS3 is nagging to watch the bakeoff lol back later!* X

Thanks D&DD will definitely look into it - for me I am happy to do stuff with him but its at the expense of everyone else usually, so if someone was picking up the balls I dropped at home it would take the pressure off. :)

Had interesting conversation today re DD6 and her school pick ups - I struggle when OH at work as I need to pick up two kids at once which currently means my dad leaving work 20 miles away and dashing to get DD and then heading back. Theres an after school club but they want paying £10 per session even though I only need 15 minutes of a three and a half hour session. Another mum has said she thought that as I am a carer I could claim back some of my childcare costs from tax credits, so will need to look into that one - would certainly take pressure off my dad.

Nothing very sensational to add but if anyone would like to combine their tinned rice pudding with my freezer full of baguettes just sing out. Rice pudding on toast? Oh, scrummy!

Pooky my grandma has a Mr Onion. And I had a Mr Pumpkin. He broke.

Would it be smug to say I don't need to throw my tins of rice pud at the Zs? My children are eating it so fast I might actually need to get more! I'm going to hit the Zs with large bags of pasta instead, and possibly bury them in couscous.
I'm still lacking in motivation as well, so at least the Zs would get me moving.

I'm sure they could be combined with some beaten eggs, sugar and milk for a rather lovely bread and butter pudding......

See thats something that SS may have an answer to Kidcat the LEA here provide transport for both my boys (different schools) but DS1 was also allowed transport with DS2 as I couldn't split myself in 3,much as I try!

I use my respite to do washing, cleaning and catching up on other stuff I should have done during the week..not really what I should do but it helps me by knowing its got done IYKWIM..I haven't relaxed since we lost the bath :rotfl:*wonder if I could plumb one in the greenhouse* :D

I keep forgetting what day it is and I often have to really think about it!

Thanks Ginny, :D, I've been quite hyper tonight, so trying to be funny. Not sure what's wrong with me, I'm usually quite sloth like!

D&DD, Craigy was asking about winter potatoes and I notice on another thread you mentioned them being in your greenhouse.

All this talk of rice pudding is making me :cry::cry:, I'm doing this low carb thingy. Maybe I could have a small spoonful. Could I stop at a small spoonful... OK, just a small spoonful. :D

Oh, Craigy, I have a hoard of tea bags. Earlier on I was moving them around so I could get my kitchen items in the cupboard! I'm not saying how many I have. :p

Possession, I think the cous-cous is a better idea than tins of rice pudding for the z's...that would stop them in full flow. I am so sick of the stuff, not sure why I got more with Af's after the last mountain of it, even my friends wouldn't take anymore.
