Sorry you're feeling so yukky Mar. Do you have a cough as well? As there is a horrible bug going around which lasts weeks and causes many of the symptoms you mention as well as a cough. Completely draining, but again no doubt a virus. Rest up as much as you can.

Rosiepuddingpaws you are a WITCH! :D My gas ran out just as I went to make some urgently needed tea this morning ! Then the RV changed the cylinders and found the regulator leaking... so we had to phone the Calor man and ask him to bring a gas + a reg = £76.50  coming this afternoon.
But that's the big 47kg one and lasts me over 7 months.
I'm seriously not happy today - can I have a grump? Anybody not wanting to hear/see a grump please leave the room now!
Last 4 weeks I've been so ill, dragging meself around like one of GQ's wee pet slugs. I get out of bed tired, I spend all day tired, I go back to bed tired. I ache I shake I sweat and I wobble. I cant do anything that involves standing for more than 20 mins, I've lost what appetite I had -which wasn't much- and my hair is falling out in buckets.
I've been to the doc who took bloods & sent me to the hosp for a chest Xray. Bloods all came back totally perfect. Xray showed "lung abnormality", poss CODP. Went back down to the nurse who did breathing tests... My lungs are perfect and operating at 120% for my height and age!
Soooo I'm perfectly healthy, reading my stats you'd think I was an olympic athete! And yet I can hardly cope with the house and cooking, and can't leave the bloody house or enjoy anything at all. I said do the tests show a virus? If I had flu would I still be "perfect"? and she said yes you would, it wont show a virus. I said so where do I go now? What do I do ? She said I dono.:mad:

Is it possible that it's been leaking since you've felt ill? in which case once fixed you should start to feel better soon.

Or allergic reaction to something new in your home? soap making stuff? wool? washing powder?

Nope, no cough. It's just the ME doing its thing but gets me angry why docs turn a blind eye and totally ignore it. If I was younger I'd have to work liek this and uts totally impossible.
I better go away and calm doon LOL or this page will catch fire and you'll all singe. See you later when I can be nice :)

    Morning All!

Mar, have you had your hormones checked, I know doc did thyroid but what about the others? The grandson of a neighbour here was ill for a long time, all sorts of weird symptoms and eventually they found he had problems with one of the glands, sorry cant remember which. Adreneal difficiency causes some people lots of problems. Just a thought.
SDG it was more likely a moth caterpillar. We used to get them all the time in London as we got infested and they are a booger to eradicate. They come down on threads from the ceiling and end up all over the place

This mad keyboard is playing up a right treat (had to retype as everything was coming out backwards :rotfl:) the usb one is working fine but there is something very wrong with whatever is running on the lappy, it loses the usb keyboard every 2 mins and puts lots of characters in search boxes and to select anything I have to hit return first  Just had to replug again! So will stop for my sanity. ((((hugs))))

    Morning Gang.

Sorry you are feeling so poorly Mard. It must be so frustrating that no one is taking you seriously.

I forgot to say last night that there was goodish news re DS and college. He's been unable to find anyone to take him on as apprentice (unsurprisingly given that the building trade locally has pretty much ground to a complete halt) and college were making noises about if he couldn't find someone to take him on they'd either have to move him on to another course (full time) or or he'd not be able to carry on. He spoke to the tutor yesterday who'd obviously been having a thunk, and he told DS he'd switch him to the C&G course, which will cost £150 for the year, but because he's done the first year of the Carpentry course he still only needs to come along on the Tuesday unit. Means he a) gets something to carry on with and b) we don't have to get up and drive him to catch the bus at 6am more than once a week - which was a killer and cost us £80 a month in petrol (£2 for each trip into town - and back - blooming quick to add up!!!)

Anyway today is my 'day of rest' (*rolls eyes ironically*) so that means washing, cleaning and tidying up. Deep Joy.

It's also rather chilly - first thing I did when I got home yesterday was head out to buy coal - so I think I might bung the wood burner on so that I can treat myself to tea breaks by the fire.

Lyn (hope that's ok) what a handsome boy - and those eyes! I'd be putty in his paws.

Kiddles dropped off at nursery - not a backward glance from either of them - makes me feel a bit redundant really (LOL). Having a swift sit down before going to finish my dress. Had to ring Letting Agent again this morning as we have a leak from the bath - was sure I could hear a drip last night but couldn't see anything then when we went out to the front door later there was a damp patch on the wall in the vestibule. Do you ever feel like you are going through a phase? Washing machine man out last week, roof guy to sort the flashing last month and now this - still we're lucky our LA is so good - explained on phone that I didn't want to be a pain but that DD has sensory issues with the shower and that we are on good terms with the neighbours and would like to stay that way! So they said they'd get someone to look ASAP.

Right this is not getting my dress sown so I will away.

Hope you all have a good day - hugs where needed.
  • Bless you all for helping with the photos, when He who knows gets back from being walked by the lurcher I'll bluetack him to the study chair and get him to work at once, you are all brilliant, thank you so much.

MONNAGRAN - We could always launch an appeal over the date of Armageddon, trouble is I can't off the top of my head think of a higher authority to appeal to! Over to you..........

FUDDLE - Thanks for the offer of putting the pic on for us, if we can't crack it I'll certainly pm you and send you one to do for us, you're a star!!!

SPIKY - If lurchers could blush he would be now, sorry for the splashing. Howsumever he is a brass faced little gipsy and currently
rolling around on the floor laughing 'cos he's bin a kleva boy!!!!!

Have a good day all, Cheers Lyn x.

Aww, he so looks so innocent in the photo - who's a sweet kleva Docky doggy den? It's ok, doggy splashing is better than getting sneezed on by small children like at work :D

((Mar)) it's bloomin' rubbish that there's nothing more the doctor can suggest! She could at least set a date to run more tests if you're not better.

I've got asthma that isn't fantastically controlled by my strong steroid inhaler, so any time my chest's playing up more than usual, I tend to pop in the doctors which is fortunately near work, and check it's not gone into a chest infection. For me, when it is a virus (which of course it is most of the time), either it goes in a week, or gives me a chest infection in a week. So I like to have it noted on their system so when I go back for antibiotics &/or steroid tablets they know it's worsened from the previous week...

Anyway, rubbish as it is, I guess the thing to do for now is treat yourself as though it is flu. Rest, keep warm, plenty of fluids and light but nourishing meals.

Hi sorry I haven't been around for a few days . I went to see my 96year old manna last night I took her a shepareds pie for tea and came home with a full set of brand new still in the packet flannelette sheets the price was still on it said 2 1/2 p I said nan that would be at least £40 now and she had at least 6 more unopened packs bless her. Well better go get my new sheets on the line x

Bless her, and what a reward for you taking her the shepherds pie!

I love finding old stuff still in the packaging, and seeing how the shop's logos have changed over time. Mum & dad have some Christmas decoration stuff in the packet still since the early 70s with the Woolworth's price sticker on. It's fleecy stuff to throw over the tree to make it look like snow, but you're not supposed to use it if babies, children or animals might touch it, and there have been young ones or animals around every year. I'd be so disappointed if I found that they'd got rid of it though :o, it's part of the decorations so must be kept for ever.

It's my whole day off work today, and my plans of take a bag of stuff to the charity shop & find some pjs for DS1 have been changed by DS2 wetting the bed 2 nights in a row... I shall do washing, followed by more washing, and will add a little washing in there for good measure. It's sunny right now, but I'll have to get at least 1 load in the dryer, I think, to get caught up with the ordinary washing.

I found a dead soggy mouse on the patio when putting the first load out, wish the neighbours' cats would keep their mice in the own garden.

Mar - Sorry that your feeling poorly. That sounds a lot like me too, often getting up feeling worse than before I went to bed.
I'm quite concerned about the hair loss thing too, but I've put mine down to stress because of the past few months. I'm going to have to go to the doctor soon though because now when I put my hair up you can see the bald patches and I have to spend ages putting hair over the patches.
Bit put of by going to the doctor as have been a lot this year with various issues, which I think are all connected. He said that the stress of my job is basically making me ill and that I should quit my job - that's alright for him to say but life isn't that easy I'm afraid!

Bent down to put my socks on earlier and felt something 'go' in my back so now have a hot water bottle on it which seems to be doing the trick.

It's a nice sunny day here but very chilly, on the walk home from work last night I wore my gloves :)

Tea tonight will be something to do with courgette, squash and duck eggs as they all need using.

Hoping to hear a bit more about moving today. I literally can't wait, I'll have to get myself on the preparing for winter thread as this house doesn't have central heating just storage heaters.

Hope everyone has a nice day :)
