Help is on it's way Lyn Give me a min to type out the instructions to get Docky on here. :)

    click http://tinypic.com/index.php
    click 'choose file'

it will bring up your files saved on your computer
choose a gorgeous Docky one and click 'open' on the bottom right

    back on tinypic click 'upload'
answer the spam filter question then click 'upload now'

you'll get a few boxes with codes in. You want to highlight 'IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards' then copy it (Cntrl and C together) and then paste it on your reply box on MSE (Cntrl and V together)

as if by magic, Docky will appear! :D

Alternatively, if you want to email Docky's pic to me, give me a shout via PM and i'll send you my email address and i'll do it for you :) Hope to help Lyn :)

GQ I now have a mental image of Smileys Bruno and Tess in the park wearing Basques, Supenders and flasher macs - this is not a good thing to do to a fellow dog lover, Docky thinks its bloomin marvellous and now he's jealous!!!!!!!

HELP PLEASE - Docky is quite right in saying I am a Numpty like a choklit teapot!!! How do we put a picture on this thread He who knows cannot work it out and it's out of my realm of experience then you can see who's nattering in lurcher at you - Thanks in anticipation Lyn x

Hi Lyn, I'm delurking again to answer this question about uploading a photo.

First of all you need to download the photo from your camera onto a site like photobucket.comor Flickr.com. Once you have downloaded your photo you need to come onto MSE as though you are going type a new message and click on the 'insert button - looks like a mountain in a small square and is in between the 'insert email link' and'wrap' button on the toolbar above where you type your message.

A box will appear and ask you to enter the URL, and this is where you go back to the picture site (Photobucket or Flickr website) and go to the picture you want to add to your post - go to your picture site, and copy and paste the Direct Link code into the URL box. Try not to have the picture too big, as it will show really big within your post, but you can quite easily crop the picture within the picture site website. This is how I do it anyway.

If you would like me to add the picture of Docky to this thread for you PM me.

Your picture will now appear in the text of your post. A bit like this:

    SockMoney.jpg

This was something I made using a pair of socks at the beginning of last year. I called her ‘Dotty’ and she proudly guards the bowl of sweets we have in the lounge!

    Hope this helps.

    xx
2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000
  • Thanks for all the advice on my gas bottle. I will not tighten by hand (couldn't anyway as the connection wouldn't budge) so you won't get rid of me that easily! I will have to get hold of an adjustable spanner at the weekend. It seems my neighbour (who may or may not still have gas) has gone on holiday and my other neighbour is too elderly and frail to trouble for physical work (and he has no spanners any more).

All the talk of hay boxes (or duvet boxes) sounds interesting. Does the finished meal taste considerably different than when cooked in the slow cooker?

I love GQ's visual picture of smileyt!

:wave: I'm back for a little while. I've had a read back and once again forgotten who i wanted to reply to.

Snails...get raced by the DD's then when bored of that, we see how far we can drop kick them ;)

Slugs...If you jump on them at just the right point then you can fire their innards 3' or more out of their *ss :D. (it's quick, as pain free as it's likely to get and disgustingly fun) or if i'm wearing my slippers i get the slug scissors out and go a-snipping.

REally very sorry for peoples losses:(

new puppies? awwww, i want one! I think the house would burst at the seams if we had any more additions though.

Just waiting for the wm to finish then i'm off to bed. really struggling with nicotine cravings and patches/inhalator just not hitting the spot so going to try and sleep through it.

Thanks for those instructions CT, I'd always wondered how it was done.

Mrs.LW: I am DEVASTATED. I'd organised a great spending splurge that would just about last until the 12th. Now you tell me it's the 22nd. This means that I'm going to have to endure at least 8 or 9 Christmas dinners. Plus I'm going to have to save some money for the extra 10 days. And what about my reserved posh place? Are you telling me that I've got to give it up? With no refunds?
Honestly, I've gone off the whole idea.

Oh man, is the end of the world not the 22nd? I was alright about it because it was a Saturday. I can face anything when my family is around me! Do the Mayan's give a time please? Preferably after 6pm - we'll have steak that night.

:D D'you remember the first time they fired up the Large Hadron Collidor at CERN? There was some chitchat on the Today Programme on Radio 4 about could this cause The End of the World?

I was getting ready for work at the time and thought to myself Should I do the dishes? As in, if the world ends today, will I have been pleased to have left a tidy kitchen?

:p Just to be on the safe side, I left them unwashed.

Which reminds me of the time my Mum casually-remarked at her workplace that she only does the dishes on the weekend. It wasn't until she saw the look on the other person's face as they were clearly imagining 3 foot tall stacks of unwashed crocks that she thought to qualify it with the addendum that my Dad washes them on weeknights!:rotfl:

I've lost count of the number of ends of the world I've lived through....

Who was it last year who said he got his figures wrong? I think he revised it to this year, but I'm sure it isn't as late as the 22.12. Anyway I'm going away boxing day and I've saved up and everything. There'll be hell to pay if that doesn't happen.

Radiators are off!!! No spillage!!! Only a small incidence of builders language - him, not me. Personally I have no idea regarding the parentage of the radiator. :rotfl:

    Welcome weeze and air!

Its been an expensive taxi day, £6.80 return from a walk we normally do in say 20 minutes from our house. But needs must, they was no way i could walked with the crutches that far. The weather turned really cold again and i ended up putting the heating on for three hours.

Well i did something which for me is scary as i've never done it before. Decided to see about a balance transfer, my credit was shot to pieces a few years ago. so i clicked the commit button and got an absolute shock and managed to get 22 months intersest free. Said i should recieve the new cc in about days.
then, this time next year half of the balnce should be paid off!

We've got two aldi but about 15 minute walks from my house, oh and two lidls as well. As well aas the usual array i.e etesco

Stiltwalker great minds think alike, when my lamb was nearly cooked I turned of the Sc and wrapped the pot in towels to keep it cooking a bit longer and the lamb is perfect. i must make a hay box of some kind. Was thinking the old duvet I have could be sewn into some kind of bag if only to shorten the time I am using electric. Worth a try and nothing lost as long as its not pork or chicken that could be dangerous if the temp is too low.

I wouldn't worry too much ginny - as a former chef I temp tested and even after 3 hours wrapped up it was still well above what it needed to be, in fact when I put it back on the stove to add a little cornflour to thicken it was back to boiling in about 2/3 minutes!

Meant to say earlier - I am so jealous of the puppies - we would love a dog, Ive had dogs since I left home at 18 and OH is a doggy person. We had to have our collie PTS just before DD was born and we said we'd get another once number 2 was walking - well that is looking a long way off and TBH I have enough to do without a dog but there is a doggy shaped hole here and I miss my doggy nuggles. Puppies do smell lovely and I have fond memories of one of the local 'hard lads' stood at the end of the bar I worked in when I got my collie pup inhaling her and cooing over her puppy smell!
