Hopefully you will get a decent sized one as it is serving the island, I cannot say about the one on our town as it has been built on existing space after they knocked down an eyesore.

It looks quite big from outside but as they built a car park that has meant some space has been lost. It may still have most of the kind of items I can afford or use. So there may still be enough to choose from.

I agree about little April, I fear it looks bad seeing they have arrested someone but there is no sign of her still...

Hello Emalou, hope you start to find it possible to smile again.
Shegar I know this year has been s**** and for many of us but I did not know that you too had lost your Dad only four months ago:(and me with Mum 5 months ago...emo35.gifto both of you and anyone else that are having a difficut time. As Shegar says many of us understand because we have or are going through similar situations. And then having to cope afterwards.

I have felt quite down today and uninterested in what's going on. I'm not sure why. I suppose that will happen. Well, the truth is that nothing is happening. I wasted a day of my week long bus ticket(I would've gone out)but its wet and windy. If I go out I just spend money which I can manage a little for now but I don't want to spend for the sake of it and I know at some point I will have to spend less anyhow.

And as Fuddle and others know on here that live locally most of the local areas if you use public transport are just going to more shops and often they are the same choice.

But if you stay indoors and are alone even if you like your own company it gets a bit boring.

Yes I heard on the news at 6 that theyve arrested a man, but where on earth is April, I do fear the worst......When I wrote that post much earlier today he wasnt arrested then..................But I had a horrible feeling then........

Yes me like a lot of you have lost loved ones this year, I didnt say on the thread 4 months ago what had happened simply because my hubby was seriously ill at the same time , and I suppose that was my way of coping with so much going on.....

You some how have to carry on with day to day life............I didnt want to bring the thread down with so much gloom, so you just get on with it............Take care all.....

ginny yay glad to hear you're both home safe and sound and things are ok X

Rosie I'm not sure what you drink but we have found if you have coffee done half with milk and water (or all milk) it heats better in the microwave,I guess the same would go for hot choc etc but no help whatsoever for tea :o Hope you manage to get it sorted X

Not a lot going on here tonight just had jacket potatoes, chicken and coleslaw for tea and it was lovely.I had to finish off the last piece of chocolate traybake too as I wanted to wash the box up

:wave: I'm back for a little while. I've had a read back and once again forgotten who i wanted to reply to.

Snails...get raced by the DD's then when bored of that, we see how far we can drop kick them ;)

Slugs...If you jump on them at just the right point then you can fire their innards 3' or more out of their *ss :D. (it's quick, as pain free as it's likely to get and disgustingly fun) or if i'm wearing my slippers i get the slug scissors out and go a-snipping.

REally very sorry for peoples losses:(

new puppies? awwww, i want one! I think the house would burst at the seams if we had any more additions though.

Just waiting for the wm to finish then i'm off to bed. really struggling with nicotine cravings and patches/inhalator just not hitting the spot so going to try and sleep through it.

Ginny - glad DHs op went well, great that's he's in his own bed, nothing like it for recovering.

GQ - glad your "thug" boots stay at the lottie, I had two baby slugs in the kitchen this morning, transported by cat I might add...the longhaired ones (cats that is, not slugs) get carted in them in the damp long grass. I launched them, trebuchet style across a few gardens to the neighbours with chickens (and a very confused cockerel who was crowing at 3pm).

Had a lovely day with my parents, they ate the soup I made and asked for more!! I sent mum home with half a butternut squash, a thing of great wonderment to her...she's promised to use it.....we'll see. Dad fitted new loft boards and a new aerial for me :T - he's fab, my Dad.

DHs hospital appointment went well and he's being referred to a local neurological physio specialist for some help. Hope it works.

DD1 was asked to take the art departments staff photos for the college magazine and website, she's chuffed, she's only been on the course for a few weeks but is already showing her worth and talent. Her work was picked as a "distinction grade example" of how others should be working. She also has her first induction day at work tomorrow.....she's a little nervous but she's making us proud.

I might be broke this week but I've got a wealth of contentment....and that works for me.

I am muchly envious! We have a lovely Aldi, buy most of shopping there, can drive or walk there easily from boys' school, shop is much quicker than the enormous MrT we have nearby (only buy few selected items there or stuff in clearance) and most of the staff are lovely too. Our Aldi is being closed down in the nearish future to make way for a Morrisons.

Pleased to have a morrisons as none nearby but certainly not at the expense of our local Aldis AND the local swimming pool is going to. We have a spanking new huge sports centre with olympic size pool (used by some of Olympic teams to train in) and I really, really don't like it for many reasons I won't bore you with. I registered my objections everywhere I could of course but I know it won't make a blind bit of difference.

Really though (Aldi moan over) I am so pleased for those of you getting Aldis or Lidls for that matter -enjoy!

    PS
OOOOH JUST GOOGLED ALDI STORES and we do have another in the next town - couldn't walk there but so lucky to have our old car so could stock up on longer life bits and go less often - just the fruit & veg that will be a shame but great news. Sooo pleased and feel silly that I didn't think to check (never go to that town)

Weeze - welcome! I am so envious of your pups. I have three springers. Lily is 10 and has had three litters, Jess is 9 and has 1 litter. I also have their grandaughter/great-grandaughter, Poppy, who is 3 now. I'm not sure I could go through the puppy stage again though - it's such hard work, but worth it when they flop in your arms after a hard hour's playing. Their heads smell lovely - just like babies!!!
If you are going to breed, PM me if you need any info.... (I mean from the dogs, not you - I'm sure you know all about breeding!!!)

My son was trying to tell me that the puppies smell different to our other dog. I said" yes they smell different like babies." His answer was "what do babies smell like because I haven't sniffed a baby!" He's 11! But I agree they smell lovely and I hug and sniff them several times a day!
I may take you up on the breeding advice offer as I have never bred dogs before and am on a bit of a learning curve but isn't it exciting! I'm really looking forward to it all and reading lots on the subject in preperation!

    Weeze x
  • GQ I now have a mental image of Smileys Bruno and Tess in the park wearing Basques, Supenders and flasher macs - this is not a good thing to do to a fellow dog lover, Docky thinks its bloomin marvellous and now he's jealous!!!!!!!

HELP PLEASE - Docky is quite right in saying I am a Numpty like a choklit teapot!!! How do we put a picture on this thread He who knows cannot work it out and it's out of my realm of experience then you can see who's nattering in lurcher at you - Thanks in anticipation Lyn x

Sadly in a situation of personal loss and problems with a loved one often that is our only way. And in general our OS troubles also mean that we carry on and have no choice and that is often how/why the care side of the NHS/Social Services or the changes being brought in with benefits or Job Centres often get away with what they do.

Because we moan or grumble but struggle alone or if there are family/friends they help each other as they always have.
