Hi weeze, welcome back
I went away for a long time a while back. We need each other at the moment don't we. I love puppies, envious you have two but not envious at some of the craziness they get up to

Shegar how are you diddling? Is everything just about manageable? I guess thats all we can ask for right now. I hope I don't come across as being nosy. I just wanted to say I haven't forgot about what time you're having at the moment and you're in my thoughts.0

Hi and its nice of you to come back and join us....Glad you are now taking something for your depression, you sound so much better.............
I feel alot more positive about everything.
It has taken me weeks to catch up with all your posts. I think my problems are very small and insignificate compared to a lot of you and what you deal with on a day to day basis.
Because of where I live I need to be a lot more organised as I can't just pop to the shops if I've forgotten something as its over a hr round trip. On the upside though I have a lot of NSD and we don't eat out much, also there aren't any takeaways so no temptation there. Just lots of dog walking and fresh air, if a bit wet at times!
My veg planting hasn't been very sucsessful, plenty of courgettes and tomatoes and not alot else. Will try again next year though.

Molly41 - well done to your son :T
Weeze210 - 'ello and welcome
I have come home to find all the plaster removed from one wall - I knew it was going to happen but is still a shock  At one point the blockwork ends and there is some chicken wire with I-know-not-what behind it - sort of plasticy looking stuff. I work in construction but haven't seen it before. I will be taking photos for colleagues to identify.
ANd I've just dropped Hummus all over my keyboard
I also came home to the smell of freshly baked bread to be had with stew / soup made with Sunday's chicken carcass. Shall i break out some blackberry and apple from the freezer and make a crumble?
The great radiator removal is tonight. I have bought blanking caps for the ends of the pipes. Cheaper than calling out a plumber anyhow. I think I might encourage DS to become a plumber and make all our fortunes - but if he takes after his dad then we're doomed on that front :rotfl:
What a miserable glum day - glad I was at work.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

The puppies are lovely and so warm and cuddley when I'm feeling cold and lonely.
I have really enjoyed reading this and previous threads, there are so many helpful tips and advice, also its sometimes funny and entertaining. I don't think I can offer much advice but I do enjoy reading and learning.

katieowl - what a fantastic friend you are and the other friends too. I hope you all, friend in need included somehow get through this situation relatively unscathed. I know that's being optimistic, not downplaying it, just wanting to send positive thoughts.
Molly - revel in your Proud Mummy Moment
Weeze - glad you and your DS are happier
I had my own proud mummy moment today. DS2 (the one who struggles a bit emotionally in school)was chosen to be the narrator for his class (year 1) and had to read in front of the whole school. Proud that he behaved/coped impeccably and proud that he is such a brilliant reader (miles in front and nearly a free reader - he has been reading chapter books for ages now but having to work on school gradually to move him up all the time) Its telling that him and another very bright lad are the some of the ones who misbehave occasionally - I know boredom is definitely a factor for my DS. When I helped out in DS2's reception class last year, I was often asked to take the pair of them aside for another activity when whole class maths was taking place as they would shout out ALL the answers!
Luckily DH is on the mend replaced by me with the dreaded bug. We synchronised our illness so that I did am school run while DH was worst and vice-versa for pm - would have really showed myself up if had done the pm school run, spare the exact details but it wouldn't have been pleasant
One cat, lets call him moggyF has been sleeping next to me in bed all day (technically he isn't allowed on beds) -he always knows when I'm poorly and stays close by :A

Help!
I have a problem that I'm not sure how to sort but I know someone here will have a solution.
I live in a part of the SW with no mains gas. My cooker hob uses bottled propane gas and ... the bottle is empty. Now I have a spare and have googled how to change it over but apparently I need a spanner.
I separated from my husband earlier this year and he took all "his" tools so I've no spanner. I don't think he used one as have a feeling he just tightened it with his hands.
As I am obviously a weakling (!), what can I use to get the connection free instead? When I say that my kettle is one that goes on the hob, you will appreciate the need to get this sorted ASAP!

You need a man with a shifting spanner Rosie! Or you can buy a proper Calor Gas spanner from Calor themselves as well. Whatever you do dont tighten it by hand!!0

Thanks Mardatha
I'm not sure what a shifting spanner is so I guess I will have to wait until the weekend when I can drive down to the Calor depot. It would take too long to get there in my lunch hour, if I even had a lunch hour.
I did try calling on my male neighbour across the road who also has gas bottles (or he did, but I think he has either hidden them in a cupboard or got rid of them). I was going to do the pathetic woman act but he was out!
I will have to have another go at heating water in the microwave - but the results weren't too pretty last time!
Thanks anyway.
