Fuddle, I use an old fashioned dustbin in back garden (just outside kitchen door) with a normal bin liner in, when it is full just tie it up and chuck it in the wheelie bin (they live out the front of the house). It saves me having to go out of the front door in my pjs and fluffy slippers and scaring the neighbours as well as keeping bins cleaner!

Yes, DH called and said he's found some liners 10 for £2.50. 25p per bag seems a bit extreme to me.

Welcome Aria`s Tail :) What a good idea to have a 'smelly' bin out the back. I'll look into it.

It's been a bin liner day today. One of the other dinner nannies pulled the bag of food scraps out of the bin and the liner split spilling it everywhere! I had to go outside and was telling dinner nanny C who was telling me the local farmer used to come pick it up to feed his pigs with, we had a good old chat about WTFarm. :) I think we're going to get on really well.

Slugs are the new bubblewrap ....
How have I managed to live for ... mmmm .... fifty-odd years without discovering the joy of stepping on slugs, and feeling them pop under my boot? It's SO satisfying! I now do it every evening, some evenings I keep a body count - current record, just from the path round the house, is 53. God, I hate them so much, they are so repulsive. Good luck to all engaged in the same slugfest stamp-out!

I was going to say something similar Mrs Chip but mix the bacon broccoli (broken into small florets) and cheese sauce into some cooked pasta, put in an oven dish and heat until brown and bubbling. Yum - superior macaroni cheese
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Fuddle I use Jeyes fluid, works a treat - just soak the bin in about a foot of strong solution and use a brush (I have a rubber broom) to agitate and do the sides. Glad your job went well by the way!

Hello to all, sorry for not posting often but I do read and laugh and cry along with you all (does that make me a regular lurker?!)

Well I just woke up so no curtains up today and house just as messy as yesterday but I feel better for actually having had some sleep.
Fuddle I second (or third, or fourth) the water and disinfectant for the smelly bin. Glad your colleagues seem to be on the same wavelength, it will make for a much happier few hours.
