Monnagran - I agree I have known two Joys and their back story, there was definitely a reason. :)

Am also holding off with the heating, but the minute DS8 starts to show signs of hibernation I will switch it on (prevents his bad toileting) .

My DD17 and I have just seen the end of Grease and have spent the last ten minutes laughing at the ridiculousness of it all, Dd started with the serious argument about women having to change to get the guy, and how it objectifies women. We then moved onto the discussion on how ridiculous it was that Sandy danced (in heels) through the spinning tunnel. Much hilarity ensued when we realised that in real life she would be crawling through it in a very unladylike manner! :)

I think we are all packed for DD6 residential this week, am determined to be organised as the morning is going to be a disaster, I mistakenly arranged a meeting for DS14 at tutor group for twenty minutes after we wave off. All I can say in my defence is that I was highly upset, in incredible pain, starving and had three more meetings to attend afterwards!!

Cooker has sold and been collected:j which is a little money in the kitty for DD party - OH not impressed at time it has taken up this weekend but am really pleased it went smoothly and quickly.

Have discovered today that teachers unions have instigated an "action short of strike" system that begins this week, I had no idea of this which concerns me as a governor I think school should have informed us in case of ramifications. BUt more importantly having read the plans it means that DS8 will not be able to attend school, one of the instructions is no lunch time supervision. However DS risk assessment say he must not attend unless they have two members of the ASD trained teaching staff watching him at lunch times - all due to his escaping. Am now really worried about what will happen and also why school havent mentioned it to me.

Thankfully a NSD today, but will need shopping tomorrow. Hoping to just buy bread and milk tomorrow and then rely on stores to fill up meals this week.

I just watched Grease too (for about the 100th time :p:o) and I always have the same complaints as your DD! I don't think the idea they had to change for each other is exactly the best morals to be advertising, but it's a great movie. And I shamefully still have a bit of a thing for John Travolta :o
  • ((((Softstuff))))
  • softstuff - echoing born blonde - not sure where abouts in the UK your mum is but just shout if you need anything.

Went over to PIL this afternoon and stew hadn't really had long enough so thought I'd give the 'modern haybox' a go so wrapped the pan in tinfoil and 2 big towels and an ikea fleece and am happy to report it was piping hot and tender as anything when we got back.

Worried about MIL - FIL is going senile and after a recent stay in hospital this has escalated and he's really not 'him' a lot of the time now IYKWIM. MIL seems really down and really not sure what else we can do to help - we're limited as kids take up so much as both have disabilities so I seem to spend half the week at one appointment or another. Doesn't help that MIL keeps saying we're doing too much already and we have our own worries so no to worry about her - but I have eyes and can see she looks drawn.

Sorry for the whinge, just a bit frustrated tonight - talking through a few ideas with OH and he's apologising for landing me with a senile FIL, daft ha'porth - that's what family is for. Just wish I could wave a magic wand and fix it all.......

Stiltwalker -((Hugs)) I would recommend contacting the local carers centre, they can do a full carers assessment and offer your MIL some support too. It may be that your MIL can access direct payments to pay for FIL care needs or it may be that they can help her get care direct from the authority. Either way is she needs help they will signpost her to the right people. Our carers centre has coffee mornings and offer therapeutic sessions - manicure, massage etc, they also have cheap days out and activities which your MIL may benefit from. Good Luck.

Am up and about at silly oclock at OH left for work at 4.30am as normal and DS8 woke immediately and was violently ill. So now have a sick little boy on my sofa. Bathroom is a disaster area so have closed door on it. My stomach is so weak even the thought makes me ill :)

Just hoping DD6 can be kept away and manages not to catch it, her trip is Tues to Weds and she would be gutted to miss it.
  • Aw kidcat sending you love, hubby has left for work now but sadly still no overtime so he will be home by 1pm (so long as its not type of rain and stops the trains, he no longer can get lifts to and from work so drives to local station and gets train into Liverpool) and if I can help in any way - nipping to shops for you, I know you planned to buy some bits today, we can easily do that for you or anything else, remember am only 10/15 mins away.

Hoping DS now has been sick will start to feel better, can even come over and clean if need be, you have so much on your plate I really do want to help in some way. Not trying to push in I promise just want to try and ease your burden in some way.

Hugs and Love to you and allxxx

    Morning everyone

It's hammering down here, too, and blowing a gale. Supposed to be taking the car back to the garage - week after its service it's started making strange noises, DH thinks something up with the brakes, but no one to bring me back and it's about an hour's walk! In this weather? :( Will ask for courtesy car and do tomorrow, methinks!

Still waiting for energy switchover to get sorted, need to know where I am financially every month so I can be organised for Christmas and the rest of the winter.

Hugs again to softstuff and anyone else who's feeling down for any reason.

    A xo

  • Good morning all, lets hope that this is the start of a better week for us all.

Some of you might remember that the weekend before last was a nightmare on our campsite with the party of police officers who had booked in as Dads and Lads materialising as a Stag group!

We went in this weekend with some trepidation as the site had been booked for a 40th birthday party and we knew a lot of the guests were once again going to be police officers.

Well it couldn't have been more different. A great group, all families and lots of kiddies running round having fun.

Hard work though as many of them hadn't camped before and needed lots of help. Two half past midnight finishes and eight am starts.

So when the only arrival of the day had booked in, an elderly gent with wife and friend in a very large caravan, DH and I sneaked away to the pub leaving my elderly Aunt supervising my DS and his friend.

Just get as far as raising my glass when the mobile rings - get back here fast.

So run home to find that elderly gent had decided to go up a ladder ( his) in the rain and pick a few of my damsons for his tea only to fall off!

Two hours later when the paramedics had gone and the elderly gent wife and friend had gone off to hospital in the ambulance I managed to get that glass of wine.

He;s OK just badly bruised but as the only driver I don't think they will be going anywhere soon.

So lets see what happens next......
