Wishing you a safe journey and lots of love through this difficult time, there are no easy words sadly, wish I could make things better(thinking of your Mum too)"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Cheapskate sorry to hear about your mum not being well
sometimes its those little things that keep you sane...I fancy treacle sponge now
So sad:(
Is this worse now or are we hearing about it more these days? Is it because we are living longer? It worries the h*** out of me. Even on the selfish side of things of worrying that I end up with it and in a home even without seeing a loved one with it(I think Mum might've had it starting slightly)
The worse thing being told or realising something is wrong but I suppose the only good thing is that at some point you don't know(well experts think that you don't)
You could really get down with what seems to be thrown our way...
You do think though hard for tose left behin perhaps the Who had something with their song My Generation(don't mean upset/seem heartless(wondering if I should say this)as I wanted Mum around as long as possible and miss her much as Sot Stuff will be her Father and Cheapskate will want her Mum around and well...
The line I am thinking of I think you'll know without me writing it out here...
Boy, do we all need some good news. It doesn't have to "Big" the simple things really do mean the most in life."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Gosh it's been a day of mixed emotions here.
I got a text about an hour ago saying my pal's mum had lost her fight with cancer in the wee, small hours of this morning.
But at approximately the same time I also got an email with the first photos of my new great-nephew, who took everyone by surprise arriving after a 50 min labour. To quote his dad (my nephew) on the subject "I nipped out to get some chips and arrived home just in time to catch the new arrival!":D (Sorry if that's TMI)
I hope you have a safe journey Softstuff, and good night to everyone else.0 -
Softsoap: Glad you are able to be with your Mum very soon. It's horrible to be so far away at a time like this. Do try to get on here when you arrive if that's possible, all our thoughts are with you.
bettony: I once met another 'Joy' who demanded to know the story behind the choice of my name. According to her there is always a story when parents decide to call a baby Joy.
Cold and wet here today. Can't believe it, yesterday it was glorious. Still holding off on the heating but if this weather goes on I can feel my resolve weakening.
Anyway, am just off with a hottie bottle to my bed. i don't mind the winter at all but just hate being cold.I believe that friends are quiet angels
