GQ and the chardlings ... sounds like a rock group!
Feeling very sad as I have booked the vet to come on Thursday to come and put catto to sleep: he has an inoperable tumour and has been steadily losing weight. He is now very thin indeed, so I need to act before he goes weak and wobbly, as I know that will make him feel anxious. He has been a great friend and companion through some horribly tough years, and I am determined he will not suffer. I tell him every day how much he is loved.... he is very clingy now, so I think he knows.0 -
Apart from family I am the only OSer I know. My friends are about 10 years younger than me and would struggle to make a batter pudding without a packet. Several times I have fed them at home with spag bol, paella, curry etc and they have asked for the recipe. There aint one! Ir's a use up the floppy veg recipe and bung what's cheap or near it's sell by.
Most (90%) of my boys clothes are bootsale or freegle, as are their toys. I buy stuff through the summer and put it away for xmas. We are by no means poor, despite me being made redundant in November, but I feel it is my duty to spend wisely (no ready meals unless yellow stickers) and try not to throw food out. Always looking for bargains and pricing the per 100g against each shop.0 -

the cake sorry about the puss cat, sad but he has had a good life with you and certainly been a comfort by the sounds of it. Mine is growing old disgracefully and driving us mad.
Hugs to those fulling in DWP forms, I know all to well how they are soul destroying.
DS is packing to go off to Cuba for a holiday/fact finding mission about living there - the job is waiting just needs to decide. Just offered him plasters and paracetomol but he already has a first aid kit packed -:j - thats my boy. He also checked on MSE to get the best travel insurance deal. He has worked hard to get promoted and this will be the holiday before he settles down to saving again. He has paid for it with his PPI claim. I just wish I had been as wise as him at 30!Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
oh cake ((hugs)) but how wonderful you are able to allow him to go at home, lovely.
Am back from meetings marathon, four meetings in one afternoon/evening is too much Thankfully I made loads of notes which means I will actually be able to see what happened as they have all blurred into one.
GQ - good to hear your AB have kicked in,0 -
sad news cake
sorry to hear it xx
DD1 is staying at her friends house tonight (on a school night:eek:) so just me and DD2 here now and a nice easy morning with only one to get ready for school. really relieved as i think my tum will still be aching.
Have been pretty OS today. nearly finished knitting my scarf (wool bought at CS a while ago) had leftovers for dinner, kids both ate out at teatime, and for my tea i've just done a pan of pasta with a few bit of veg and a bit of garlic mayo, tastyn
as soon as the pasta came back to the boil i took it off the hob to finish cooking with the lid on and put a pan of water on the ring (electric) to warm up for a hot water bottle (turned off, just leftover heat)
VJsmum, i hope the rest of your journey passes quickly x
DD&D, is it you on the naughty step for getting behind?? i'd best join you for forgetting who to reply tofreecycler and skip diver extraordinnaire:cool:0
