fuddle i've got one with the temp on too, my lr is 22 at the moment with a window and the back door open.
I've had two bits of good news. 1) the car is covered by the AA so just the excess of £35 to pay and it should be ready this afternoon, in time for DH to go to work
2) went to my hospital app this morning and the consultant didn't see anything too sinister (his words). he has taken 2 biopsies, should get the results in a fortnight, then a further appointment after that to see about treatment.
So I'm sat here roasting with 2 hotwater bottles to try and get rid of the bellyache i'm left with, watching the walking dead dvd and knitting my scarf.
the girls are being picked up from school by friends and will be dropped home after tea, so no tea to cook, pots to wash etc.
i've tried catching up on here yet again but i'm too slow!
love and hugs offered to all xxfreecycler and skip diver extraordinnaire:cool:0 -
Fuddle we were given an electricity monitor a couple of years ago and its really good for focusing on your usage, DS14 in particular looks at it and if its running high he looks for the reason why, which I think is good for him. Ours has a temp display too, we laugh at it now as in last house the living room never rose above 16c whereas here it never drops below 21c, and some days DD17 will say ooh its cold in here and DS points out its actually 22c!!
Am really zonked with all these pills,my back has finally settled down from the flare up and I was hoping to get away from pills and get back to normal, this tooth infection has really hit me and upset me to be honest. I feel like I am always ill and never able to do anything.
Sorry am having a bad day. Especially as I am spending the day "resting" on the sofa, I have four meetings this afternoon/evening as three schools, none of which I can miss,so we agreed yesterday that I was to get kids to school and then doze. BUt every time I manage to drop off the blinking door goes and its parcels for next door.
They both work full time yet seem to order lots and take no account that they are never in for deliveries and it falls to me, one of them is huge and weighs a tonne. And to top it off the last guy was extremely rude - as I hadnt opened the door quick enough for him, was tempted to tell him where to stuff his parcel.0 -

Seems to work, and OH is so vain he'd never be seen with a Trolly. It was a struggle to convince him he could get more in a rucksack than his messenger bag.
Probably rucksacks are ok when there are two shopping, I still use mine if I know it's a small shop or I can make a few trips...I think my day went quite well at the CS (thanks for thinking of me Pops)Came home to a phone call from my mum to say dad had been taken to hospital again last night. It's the same damned thing, his heart, but he's still a week away from a consultants appointment that he should have had months ago. I really believe in the NHS they're hoping some people cark it before they have to see them. No wonder A&E was chock-a-block, it's full of people who keep keeling over when no-one deals with their problems.
And breathe. Mum tells me not to fly back since there's nothing I can do right now.
Love to all, I must go and check dinner (chicken in black bean sauce with rice)xx
So sorry to hear of your Dad and I know how you feel having gone through it with Mum and the worst thing being that there is nothing you can do to make the situation better. Thinking of you and yours...
And yet we still have to try and find some joy in life, if we don't what is left?Hobsons_Choice wrote: »Loads of people have trollies in my town, and not just the elderly.
No-one takes a blind bit of notice tbh and it certainly wouldn't stop me going out with one if I needed to (and I feel that need coming ever closer)!

Have had a very interesting morning.
Had a friend come over for tea and cake this morning, asked me were I bought the cake, told her I made it its just banana cake. Oh I cant cook she says, I said just follow the recipe its easy.
Then she asks why we are selling the car, explained that as I lost my job we dont really use it much and its cost money to run which we cant really afford.
Then she said I know how you feel about having no money, we have just borrowed some to have our bathroom renovated but we are going to go on a hoilday first for 3 weeks to turkey to relax first before having all the work done on the house. I asked her was she having problems with the bathroom as the last time I saw it , it was fine no she says just fed up with looking at the same things
Then she asked what are you having for tea, told her we are having shepards pie I made it yesterday and there is enough for the two of us for two nights. Well she couldnt believe my OH allowed me to do that, as her OH does not eat the same thing twice in a month.
She really has her head in the sand and has no idea what is going on, I didnt mention about me buying and having a food storage cupboard.
As she would be the first one round if things got bad to ask for food .
He works and she works parttime but they dont earn a huge amount,
I asked her what would happen if they both lost there jobs how would they pay back all the money they borrowed, plus bills and food.
She says they will give me benefits to cover it, I didnt ask her anything more just though they are both in for a hell of a shock if anything happens.
We have a young bloke from three streets away coming tonight with his dad to look at the car, he seemed very interested in it. So it could be sold tonight Fingers crossed.C.R.A.P. R.O.O.L.Z. Member. 21 Norn Iron deputy h

Stop talking about tea
I've been to the docs with my 5 day dairy of what I eat (IBS) and he has suggested that I cut right back my tea consumption as my 8-10 cups per day is seen as excessive in his eyes. He thinks it's worth seeing if it's the caffeine that is upsetting me. And as I have the constipation IBS I have to have a small bowl of fruit and fibre daily and he agreed that a small glass of prune juice daily would be a good idea.
That will hit me with my monthly shop. If it does happen then they'll lose my custom. Simple. As it stands it's an easy and cost effective way for me to do my shopping. If it becomes not a cost effective way I won't do it and begin the buying in bulk process, which to be fair, I'm seriously thinking about that anyway.
Off I go to take the pup (Alfie Pops) over the fields and hunt out some blackberries.
I'll remember from now on Fuddle...
That will affect many without their own cars or have difficulty with getting around(ill/disabled)on low incomes...It will be cheaper to use a bus/taxi and a trolley...or hope that you live near a decent supermarket. If I had to pay such a delivery charge, I have have thought of doing online shopping again, that would mean buying less food...or money saved on the delivery would be better spent on say things like the CT, BT and/or energy bills...or I'd rather put it towards more food.
You can do your own variety of fruit and fibre though Aldi's/Tesco's versions are quite good value, porridge with fruit can be nice...there are many fruit juices too...
Now as for the tea could you go for a caffiene free version?"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
