Yay - Fuddle is back! :j
Irishmom - hello
I actually made it out of bed! The damson jam I made yesterday didn't set so it was on my mind to get it sorted today. It's now done and cooling. Have up dated my blog with my apple chilli jam pics and new dresser. I really could just have dressers filled with jam throughout the house, I suspect I'd get disowned by my family though. They really don't get why I have to put hats on all my jam jars. Philistines!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
I think its easier to get upset with on-line accusations as you cannot reply like in RL as easily, you are not sure the person who made them will read any defence you make of yourself and of course you don't know who it is and its scarier having this unknown person attacking you.
I am in same boat cannot do proper shopping till 15th and have quite a few gaps for all I have a year supply of teabags

Hello Everyone
I'm afraid that I'm not feeling up to replying to everyone at the moment. We had some bad news this morning and it's taking a while to sink in. I posted about our friend that was diagnosed with cancer after going back and forth to the Drs for 9 months a while ago. Well it seems that there is nothing else the Doctors can do and he has a few weeks left to live at the most. He is in a Hospice at the moment and wants to come home to die. They are trying to work out if that is possible at the moment. DH has warned work about needing time off for the funeral and I will let DS1's college and DS2's school know tomorrow. I think we are all shell shocked at the moment and can't and don't want to imagine how his family is feeling.
I needed a distraction this morning, so DH dropped me off into town and I went and spent the John Lewis voucher that DS1 brought me for my birthday. I got 5 balls of patons FAB in a colourway that looks like fairisle when it's knitted and some sparkly buttons. Now I just need to knit something other than little hats. I also popped in The Works and got some cookbooks and a book of sock patterns. They have a sale on and 4 books for £5 at the moment.
All moneysaving has gone to pot at the moment. I might try to go and pick the damsons I know about tomorrow and put those in the freezer to make jam with later.
Sorry for wittering on and not making much sense.
Bye for now. Take care everyone xxx0 -
Well, see what happens when I go out to fry some chips! Glad you're back Fuddle, you know that you have done NOTHING wrong, some people cannot face the truth and can only turn nasty to try to justify themselves. Forget it, do not waste another moment thinking about it!
Mr T has substitution policy - you ask for substitution and their choice is dearer, they pay the difference - would be interesting to see what would happen if you put in an all value order!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
SDG, I'm so sorry about your friend. I don't know what else to say, it's so sad.0

edit. Warning, i didn't realise how long this post would be when i started it, sorry!!!
Good choice Fuddle, glad to see you stayed with us
I am cold this evening, but I suppose if I got off my bottom and actually did something I'd soon warm up:o
DH is in a bit of a sulk (justifiably though) since his employer is going through a merger and no one is quite sure if their jobs are safe or not. He's done a lot of overtime this month so the next pay will be used paying a few bits off and stocking up just in case of zombies
I'm absolutely shattered now, not sure I have th eenergy to do much. DD2 has singlehandedly wiped me out. She was on the play equipment in the school playground while I waited for DD1 to come out this afternoon.
someone came over to tell me she had slipped and was crying. when I got over to her she was curled up in a ball sobbing, picked her up to give her a cuddle and she passed out cold, blue floppy, not breathing...scary. Had laid her down ready to resus before she came round.
She first did it over a year ago and dr said she was breath holding, then she banged her arm a few weeks ago and did it again and then with this afternoon I ended up taking her to A&E.
They were brilliant with her, registered her with reception, just sat down and we were called to triage, processed and shown to the playroom. 5mins later the nurse called her in and checked her all over and took history and let her play with her torch, when she had finished the dr was already waiting to see us.
were shown to another room and dr did more tests and Leah made him demonstrate the bed peddles making her go up and down (several times) and after he listened to her heart she demanded to listen to his so he lent her his stethoscope and let her (apparently his heart doesn't go bump bump it goes boom boom:rotfl:)
He said no one had ever asked to do that before. she totally managed to charm everyone yet again.
So it seems to be that losing conciousness is her reaction to pain and she should just be monitored and school should be warned. Looks like I'll have to get used to it as she is rather, errrm, boisterous:eek:
We were sent home with a bottle of calpol for her headache less than an hour later:j
We've used that A&E for various accidents and emergencies over the last 25ish years with rarely less than a 3hour wait just for triage.
I'm very impressed, but also gutted that it's all due to change again. This hospital was the first ever NHS hospital. over the past few years it has already lost it's maternity ward and it's childrens ward and the next proposed step is to close A&E, then to possibly just use it for simple day surgery. It's such a loss to the local community.
so now, do i have enough energy to make myself some tea (cos my belly's starting to rumble) make the chillililli that I've already salted the veg for, make butties for girls boxes tomorrow and iron uniforms or should i get my self to bed and hope i'm up in time to do it all in the morning???
or should i sit and stare and the laptop for another hour while i decide?
Oh, sorry. nice to have you on here irishmam, and hippymam, that's carp newsso sorry, these girls on here are the source of all wisdom, of that i am absolutely convinced, and everyone will try to help you through it wherever we can xx
Edit. SDG how sad, I'll be thinking of you and your family and your friends family too of course. I'm so sorry to hear that newsfreecycler and skip diver extraordinnaire:cool:0 -
SDG I'm so very sorry to hear of such bad news for you. Writing hugs on the internet just doesn't cut it in times like these does it. You come here to let it all out if you need to. You know we're good listeners. Tough in every sense of the word.
Ah, thank you for that. My order is practically full of basic lines so I will let you know. Off I go to submit!
Mar was on the preppers thread this morning, she got a slurp from me for telling me I can fry sausages on my Roses tin lid on my outside makeshift oven
Lisa very frightening for you. You sound like such a trooper. At least you know what is happening, why and that she will come round. Still, I bet you feel all exhausted because of it.
Welcome to our newbies, I'm not normally such a drizzle honestly.0
