  • Hello, finally coming out of lukerdom after several years!! I could not remember my password for the life of me and my email address changed but had a moment of inspiration this evening - it must be because of that strange yellow ball in the sky finally!!

Fuddle don't go I have been reading your journey and you are going so well - you are needed!!
I'm getting worried here about prices - tesco value potatoes 59 cent , cheap coffee was E2.08 now E2.16 in 3 days!! Freezer is full but need room urgently for fresh veg that I can cook off and keep.
Quick question can I cook mashed potatoe and then freeze it ? I know some one will know here
    Cheers

  • No problem freezing mashed potato, I have done it many times, just give it a good mix when defrosted to ensure no lumps are left and its fine.

Welcome by the way, we have someone else from southern Ireland I think plus sunshine and meanmarie from the north, might be others......you all live on a beautiful Island.

Hugs and Love to all xxx

  • Hello IRISH MOM - yep you surely can freeze mashed potato, and also cooked boiled potato, cooked/part cooked roasties, chips and wedges. Also Jackets - they are all fine and come out of the freezer as nice as they went in!! Nice to have you join us Cheers Lyn.

(((((hugs))))) fuddle I can't add anything because others have said it all. I haven't read the post either.

hippymam Your baby would benefit from wearing woolly tights under trousers when it is colder. I used to live in a very cold house when my oldest was a baby , I bought and had given dark tights so he wore them and a pair of socks and slippers too. I also layered his top half with a vest, thin top then jumper then a sleeveless tank top thing. I used to wear several layers myself too.

We had a coal fire in most rooms but could not afford to light them all all the time.

Talking of tights, I went to tescos today , and in the ladies clothing section they had some beautiful thick knitted black tights, they really were thick, adult sizes definately thicker than leggings cos I touched them...........

I didnt buy any cos I never wear skirts or dresses, @ £6 per pair I would have thought thats pretty reasonable..................

I'm really sorry for over reacting. I got a shock at how hurt I felt over words on a screen. I felt more upset than I do when someone in RL has a go and that freaked me out.

I think when your integrity is questioned and words like witch hunt, uneducated, scapegoat, weaker, jealous, nasty, bully are thrown your way - well its galling. The person who wrote this says it reads the thread regularly, so surely it could have seen that I helped him so much, in emotional support and practical support. I just don't understand how everything can go wrong for me in just one post.

Anyway, the drama queen has flounced off and I'm back. So sorry for making the thread all about woe me.

Been blackberry picking again tonight and from now on they are getting frozen for steamed puds in the winter. No more experiments or wine making. This feels very serious now and worried that I can't submit my online grocery order till DH paid on 15th - it's jam packed full of basic stuffs. I am tempted to press submit now for delivery on 15th. Do you think if there's no basic by then they'll substitute with the next brand up at no extra cost? I have 10 tins of basic mushy peas at 4p each. If they have non and charge me 40p per tin, that will be £4 on mushy peas instead of 40p. I'm very scared.

Fuddle, no need to apologise, the words were meant to hurt and sadly, they can only be interpreted as bullying. I'm not going to discuss what caused the attack any more as really, it's chip shop paper in the real world. Onwards and upwards hon.

Blackberries are still not ripening here, although the sudden appearance of the sun might make a differenece! I hope so.

You can mark no substituion so if not available, then you just won't get any peas. I don't think they will give 40p peas for 4p sadly.

I'm pretty sure that if you don't want the substitute they offer, you can get a refund on it. I've tried to check, but I can't log into tesco's website, for some reason.
