  • Oh Marie sorry, I just remembered you were in Ireland but forgot where and guessed wrong, I humbly apologise.

SDG I am so sorry to hear about your friend, a shock to all, made worse of course by doctor not finding out sooner. Sending you all my love.

Byatt I really do understand how you feel Sophie will be 14 end of next month which for a JRT is a good age and not up to any ops so vet can only surmise how long she has as you can feel the tumours around her teats and surrounding area but obviously don't know how far they travel inside. My heart goes out to you. It a time I dread as she has been my constant companion as my health slowly has got worse beside me day and night, I know I have the other two and I do love them but she is my baby who I had totally as mine from a day old as her mum refused to feed her as she was so tiny and weak. The others yes have bonded with me more than hubby they spend all their time with me but as much as I love them they are not her. The one thing she has going for her is her mum lived till she was 17 and she has proved she is a fighter surviving at birth. I think our love gives animals extra strength to carry on as they want to stay with us.

All three are snuggled against me, will have to fight for space to lie down , for small dogs they take up so much space if they get away with it.

Hugs and Love to all xxxx

Crumbs, it has been a busy old day eh?

Fuddle… well done for hanging on in there. I echo everyone’s sentiments!

SDG… so sorry to hear the news about your friend. Your situation is similar to how it was with my mum, and I really feel for you.

Lisakay… I used to hold my breath when I was younger. Scared the
life out of my mum the first time I did it, but once she realised why it wasn’t so daunting. I did grow out of it but never quite got out of the habit of holding my breath in tunnels. Needless to say I have never been on the Channel Tunnel.

Not such great news for us today as my DD is not responding to her medication as planned, so things are going to have to change a little. I was a blub fest after the hospital called; when DH and I told her later she took it completely in her stride. I am so proud of her!

My last words tonight are really for everyone. We never know what is going to befall us. We never know what is round the corner. Stand true for what you believe in, you’re stronger than you’ll ever know. Oh, and remember how fabulous you are!

Jennie - hugs, I hope the hospital get it all back on track quickly, and what lovely words. :)

Am a very proud kitty mummy this evening, one of our babies caught a mouse outside the shed!!! Having had bother with mice for a while (living across from farm fields) am hoping that word goes out that we have a mouser in residence!! And best of all she didnt bring it home to present it - just hope she didnt leave it next door for them!!!
It makes a change as the neighbour was telling OH yesterday that the boy cats have taken to wandering into their house at mealtimes looking hungry - egged on by their children. Thankfully the neighbours recognised it was their children encouraging them and that the huge beasts were far from hungry.:)

Bagsy I don't have to clean it ;)

Just been wondering why testicles are such a handicap to cleaning the bathroom actually... I am the only person who EVER does it

Had a sort of half way to getting what needed to be done actually done day. The H&S inspector is coming to assess the kitchen tomorrow, fixed the apt today :) need to do a couple of things in the morning but it's good to go.

Took Miss mattie back to the vetty person....explained to Rox that she couldn't come as I headed out of the door, and made the fatal mistake of using the V word. Had to drag Mattie to the car, and manhandle her all the way down the high street at the other end. We waited for our apt. and got seen in the carpark again, as taking her through the door reduces her to a jelly.... Vet is very pleased with how her ear has gone down (hate to say I told you so ;)) for some reason cost me £4 something today and not a tenner. Next wed I have to take Rox for her annual jab, Mattie has to wait a bit...

The boys asked for Pizza tonight - not just any Pizza - but the all vegetable one that comes from Ald! - My friend has been feeding it to them while they've been working for her. I was most surprised that they were frozen, and very pleased they are 99p - I've eaten one too...it was really nice - but I dare say I'll regret it tomorrow, as I've not eaten any bread dough for a long time. Sometimes one is just too tired to stick to a good dietary plan... :(

Spotted a nice chi-chi 30's tea set in one of the charity shops on my way back UP the high street with mattie, and bought it as the pop-up tea room looks like a go-er. That will do the teas for one table...I've loads of china, but not tea-cups. It's green and yellow, and I do have a yellow teapot.

The farmers are still out tractoring (as we city folks call it) I think they are bringing hay in. The rural idyll huh? God they work hard for their jellybeans. Hope they don[t keep it up too late, as I need my beauty sleep... 2 am is not unheard of to stop tractoring....

Kate, the tractors have been hauling hay past my cottage today! One of the tractors makes a clanking sound so I know it's coming. Huge bales!

Charlies Aunt thank you for the information, may be of use soon!

Why do I decide on an early night 10 minutes after I have put a fruit cake in the oven  Am very happy as I have been looking for a rubbed in fruit cake recipe that didnt cost about 15 quid to make and finally found on online, will road test it after I have cooked it and let you all know how it is. :)

Had a splendid day, very peaceful without OH (respite day) total silence at one point - there should be an 'Aaaaah' smiley.

Decided to nip and see if there were any blackberries left and gosh there were lots, luckily I took a walking stick though as they were a bit high. think I may get another bagful in the next few weeks. Then i suddenly decided to go to Mr A for a YS loaf and I hit the motherload - basics butter 27p yes 27p, even if I only use it for baking its half the price of marg. So I got 10 and there were lots left for other people. On the way home down the canal (filled in many years ago but we still call it the canal) I found a mass of blackberries that were huge and ready, so sweet. I came home with a huge smile on my face. the neighbours are now sure Im crazy as I was stood in a patch of nettles with 2 bags of shopping talking to OH on my mobile :rotfl:

    SDG sending hugs xxx

lisakay, what a scary day, these kids can drive you crazy can't they. Im guessing you are at the other side of Manchester to me from your description of the hospital.

Hope everyone wakes up to a better day tomorrow. hugs ginny

Have missed all sorts over the last couple of weeks, just dipping in and out, so missed all fuddle's troubles, but SO GLAD you're still with us, hun! However tired, fed up, tearful or angry I am, when I visit here it's like oil on troubled waters - we all share our woes and good news, so whatever was said I'm glad you're all still here! :j

Still not managed to get dr's appt, like bl00dy hen's teeth at our surgery, so will have to try for next week; hope I'm not a gibbering wreck by then. :D

Been picking and freezing brambles like there's no tomorrow, elderberries almost ready, too. Dug up the last of my spuds - after the slugs got at them I've had about 5 lb from about 2 lb planted, what rubbish!

Off to work today, don't want to go, would rather go back to bed or do a load of OS-ing, but might feel better in the sunshine. My dad's cousin's just had a major op for bowel cancer, can't get up there (near Glasgow) so just texting other relatives for updates, all our prayers being directed up north!

Sorry to moan, hope you don't mind me doing so for the second time in a week! :rotfl:

Hugs to all worse off than me!

    A xo
